LHCF Ladies...I Trust Your Advice

I am getting a consultation on this with a stylist later this week, but I have grown to really trust the advice of LHCF members....even over my stylist. I am getting a sew-in weave for a special occassion. I want the Kelly Rowland (from DC) deep wavy look that she sported all of 2004. I have no idea what brand and also whether this hair should be synthetic or human. Any ideas Ladies?

You want human hair.

For that Kelly curly look she had last year I recommend hair from two places. Either naturegirl curly www.naturegirl.net/curly2.html You'll want the wefted in 14" and you'll need about 14 wefts which run 19.50 a weft so about $300.

The second place is extensions plus. http://www.extensions-plus.com/zzw.html, you'll want the natural curly. You'll want about 3 packs so about $300 You can click on this link to see a pic of the extensions plus hair that someone bought. http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=13908&PN=2

Both of these are a little pricey but will give you the look you want. If you want a cheaper alternative, you could try bohyme hair. I, personally have never worn the Boyhme curlier or wavy textures but I like their straight. http://www.superhairfactory.com/sho...Path=2&zenid=07bd4f6e49fac5f5f05e945b91cead81

If you get the Naturegirl, the wefts are hand tied and can't be cut so your stylest has to know how to work with those types of wefts. you can cut them and tie them off but you lose a lot of hair.

Here's another brand that's okay. It's not as good as NG or ExtensionPlus but it could work if you want another cheaper alternative. It's from adorable http://www.adorablehairdo.com/Overview.html But my recommendation would be Naturegirl though.

human, definately human

Aiight, WeaveitUp, I just spent about 30 min. going thru all your fokti pics on weaves and such. Wish I had the skills to do my own weave. (heck, I cannot even CORNROW, okay?) :( Nevertheless, it's inspirational. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Crystal! I have been looking for specifics about Kelly's weave ever since she first busted on the scene with it and nobody really seemed to have any valuable info for what she had or how it may have been done. I appreciate all the info. I copied all your suggestions and printed them out and now I am on my way to do my homework!

We had a long debate on whether or not Kelly's hair was a weave or lacefront wig and it was about 50/50. I thought it was a weave personally. Someone finally chimed in and said they actually worked with DC's hair and it was a lacefront wig but I don't know. But regardless, you can still achieve her look with a weave though. I'm still not convinced her hair was a wig.

Can you put such a long middle-part in a lace front wig like she had? She often wore that style with a deep center part. She's got her hair out in the front fo' sho'.
