(!!!) List Products that make your Hair DRY (!!!)

Poohbear

Fearfully Wonderfully Made
List hair care products, tools, or even techniques that have made your hair feel or look dry...

My list:
Suave Clarifying Shampoo
John Frieda Dream Curls
Pantene R&N Daily Oil Cream Moisturizer
LeKair Cholesterol Plus (I think it does, still working with this product)
any type of hairspray or spritz
Airdrying with my hair loose/straight down

Here's Mine:

-All Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners
-any hairspray whatsoever (the alcohol dries and breaks my hair)
-Dove shampoos and conditoners
-Elasta QP Scalp Stimulating Shampoo
-hair gels with alcohol

I guess the Herbal Essences and Dove lines don't condition my hair well enough. I think they just coat my hair, and if I wore my hair down, it became dry and brittle very quickly after using these products.

lusters and BB pink oil moisturisers
elasta qp mango butter
coconut oil
suave clarifying shampoo...i still use to it to clarify
all herbal essence's shampoos
l'oreal vive conditioner (orange bottle)
all garnier fructis products

The two shampoos that have dried my hair out is:

Aubrey Organics Island Butter Shampoo
and
Suave Professional Awapuhi Shampoo

To combat the dryness in the Aubrey Organics I added a little coconut oil to it. Much better, however, I will not purchase again.

I don't know if they make it anymore but Moisture Max oil moisturizer and the Lusters pink oil moisturizer.

Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo and conditioner
Aveda Brilliant Pomade
None of the Aveda products work for my hair. :(

Pantene line--I haven't tried the one for women of color

Infusium

Pink Oil Moisturizer
Cholesterol (any brand)

What is funny is...I used to use both of these products religiously.

Pink oil moisturizer should be banned. I know people who hate the way that it makes their hair feel but continue to use it because of the shine and smell.

Any product containing SD Alcohol

I was just about to type that. I got my sisters to stop using that mess after I explained to them what it was doing, lol.

Surge Power Wash (I think that's what it's called; I gave that product away)
Suave Shampoos (the conditioners are fine w/my hair)

Lustrasilk Moisture Maxx. Yes, Enchantmt..they still make it, and fools like me are trying it..Pink oil moisturizer, Pantene R&N Oil Moisturixer, any kind of suave, or vo5 shampoo, and the conditioners make my hair feel hard. They just don't agree with me..I am having a hard time finding a moisturizer, that really moisturizes!

You know what? After thinking about the oil moisturizers I've used in the past (Motions, ElastaQP, Pantene R&N), I think they caused my hair dryness.

So far none of the nexxus products (shampoos and conditioners) have worked, too much protein I think.
Kemi oil
peanut oil
elasta qp mango butter
Most oil moisturizers (ie Motions)
Most conditioners

S-Curl??? No way!!! My hair LOVES that stuff!!! :yep:
Yes, S-Curl also harms my hair. It makes my hair waxy and hard as do many glycerin based products.

For those of you who have had trouble with traditional moisturizers traditional moisturizers, try Cathy Howse's moisturizer. It has really done a lot for my hair and is the only moisturizer that works for my hair.
