So here are my first progress pics on LHCF. It has been a wonderful 16 months so far! I've been a a very infrequent lurker since August 2009, started paying serious attention to my hair on January 2010, and finally paid my dues on August 2010. So I guess I'm still technically a newbie? Anyway, as I get deeper into my journey, I learn more and thus retain length better. Any comments - critical, complimentary, or otherwise - are appreciated!

I still consider myself APL (even though parts of my hair touch my bra strap) for 2 reasons: (1) My bra strap is a little higher up than it normally is here (2) I will get a trim in June to even my ends. My hope is that no more than half an inch is taken away, but we'll see...

Well, that's it!

Thanks ya'll!!

great progress! R u relaxed? whats your reggie?

I'm 4b, relaxed. My reggie usually consists of lots of cowashing during the summer (every two days or so), and during the winter cowashing once or twice a week. I shampoo and deep condition once every week with ORS aloe shampoo and ORS replenishing conditioner. I usually apply MT once a week, and I take a handful of vitamins (and minerals) - a third of which are for my hair, and the other two-thirds because I'm lacking in certain nutrients, which I guess also affect my hair (like iron). Also, I keep my hair in a bun most of the time, especially as my stretch progresses. I'm still learning, though. The longer my hair gets, the easier it is for me to practice certain techniques, I'll admit. This summer, after I finish rocking my hair straight till the end of this week, I'll keep my ends out of the sunlight until my next relaxer in August. I'll probably even wear braids.
