In order words, I believe He is saying, instead of living life to campaign for your own promotion. Consider others peoples needs as more important than your own. Campaign for their succeess. Pour that life out! Don't quit your job! But do your job to serve the needs of the people you are serving. Our careers are not the platform for self promotion, they are to meet needs. God gave us the talents and gifts to bless people. Some people will have ministries in the church to bless people, yet there is even selfish ambition in the church. Are you looking for your purpose...I can tell you right now what it is...because Paul sas we all have the samr purpose: HELP! ur job to serve y serve the needs of others. If you still think your promotion is about you, you are missing it! Do not seek your own! That's why we can't be happy with other people when they get blessed because we are more concerned about our own.
James 3:13-16, says who is wise among you? Let him show it by good deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, and of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and every evil practice. Look at your relation, your marriage, your friendships, your household, your job...is there disorder? Weed out the s selfish ambition and envy. But when you clean it out, replace it with goodm. Because when the enemy finds the place swept out he brings it right on back it. But James continues with this, but the wisdom that is from above is first of all pure, then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy, impartial and sincere. Only the pure in heart shall see God.(Matthew 5). Did you know that selfish ambition was listed among the sind thst will keep people from inheriting the Kingdom of God. Selfish ambition is of the devil. Read Romans 2:8, and follow with 2 Cor 9-10.
