2Cor. 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for
what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what
communion hath light with darkness?
You are commanded by God to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
Plain and simple. Yet because of low self esteem, age, your past, and
other situations, a lot of Christians are starting to settle for
unsaved, unchurched, and unspirtually minded people for their mates.
But when you do that, you leave God totally out of the picture and
your purpose in him is jeopardized by your selection. You see, even
though you may feel that you need to hook up with an unsaved person
because you just need someone, God's word never changes! There is
spiritual danger in that because you seek to fulfill yourself rather
than allowing God to give you what you need. And when you do that, you
are on your own! Don't pray about it, do not pass go, do not even seek
counseling because it's you and them! Christian singles beware! Your
purpose in God is why you live, move and have your being. If you
choose your own way, you will only be putting obstacles in your own
path. An unsaved person is not in covenant relationship with God so
they cannot truly be in covenant relationship with you. And when you
choose to unite with someone that is not a believer, you are taking in
a spirit that is not apart of your covenant with God.
Look at everything in the spirit realm. The natural may say, he's good
looking, or she's a nice person, but in the spirit, you may be flirting
with the death of your purpose in God. Is it worth it? Obey the word
of God and let God unite you with a believer! Not just any believer,
but one that he trusts with what he put inside of you. And please,
don't try to do the work for God and get them saved! Remember:
No one come to God unless the Spirit of God first draws them!
Your spirit won't work! An unsaved person will
change you more than you will ever change them. You will find yourself
doing things you know are wrong and end up making yourself look so bad
that you cannot be an example for anyone. And when it's all said and
done, you will be the injured party and you will watch your purpose
from a distance because you are sleeping with the enemy! Hear God's
word people. Follow his precepts. Men, an unsaved women will
overpower you and cause you to fail God. Solomon was the wisest man in
the bible, but failed God because he was unequally yoked with
idolators. Women, an unsaved man should not be your spiritual covering! You will not
find your purpose nor walk in it because the enemy will always be able
to block your progress when you allow an unsaved man to cover you
spiritually. The 2 of you become one flesh! Please, people of God, don't try
to defy God's word and make it work. It won't work for your good, but
it will rob you of your hope. Never hook up with an unbeliever.
