I'm thinking about buying a slap cap and possibly Grace Eleyae turban. Has anyone tried either of these products? What do you think about them -- particularly the quality, the elastic, and sizing (are they true to size)?

I'd like to know, too. I've had the baseball cap in my amazon cart for a month or so now. I have a smallish head and I'm afraid it won't fit.

I've been eyeing the baseball caps for a while, too. Right now adult slaps are B1GO free.

I have a slap. I use it and like it. I believe I got the xl and it is roomy to me. I don't have a big head but got a little cautious by all the reviews saying it might be tight. I'm fine with it being roomy. I have it in a nice gray color. I may eventually get a black. It seems to be nice quality, I've hand washed it and thrown it in the washer. It's held up fine.

I wanted the turban but couldn't justify the$44 price tag. Maybe I'll get it when she does a sale.

    I have a cap and it's fine.

I have a couple and like them but honestly don't wear them much outside of the cooler months when I'd wear a skull cap. If I'm around the house I'll just throw on a bonnet.

I 2 or 3 slap caps and a slightly larger head than usual (or so I've been told). Caps from Target are usually pretty tight on my head for reference (esp. with my natural hair). The caps fit nicely. I agree with the ladies above. They do seem to be good quality and look nice. They have good stretch and I can wear them comfortably all day.

I purchased several colors (red, black, white, cream, and gray). Within a month of wearing my black and red ones frequently, the elastic had loosened and lost its original shape. The material of the cap is rayon. The inside is a stretch satin. It holds up to washing, but after a few washings it looks a little worn. I will make use of the caps I have left and will only wear when going out. I won't make any future purchases.

I have a big head and ordered a medium. The elastic now is loose as if it was a large.

    ETA:

The price point of these caps is insane. I purchased my caps when they were on sale and based upon my experience with these caps, even the sale price was too much. It's polyester and elastic.

I have several and I really like them. Mainly I use in the fall/winter so this BOGO would be a good sale to catch. I wear mine frequently including in the house so mine get more wear than normal. Hubby started taking mine and putting his big head in them so 2 have lost some shape. They wash well and haven't had any issues. I haven't purchased any new ones in 2 years so plan to reup this year, not cause I need to just want some new colors.

Overrated for the price...get them on sale. The elastic that is used in the scrunchies degraded very quickly, I assume from the oils in my hair. I would only recommend getting a dark color or black especially if you use heavy oils/butters on your hair.

I like the idea, but I don't think I would buy them again. I'll just go back to wearing a regular satin bonnet under my hats when it gets cold outside. Mine are all stained except the black one, so I only wear them in the house.

I have several (all black or charcoal grey) - they come in "handy" when running errands and looking stylish.

I throw them on, put on big sunglasses, earrangs and a Lippie and look like I'm really doing something.:giggle:

Actually more than likely, I'm DC'ing under there.

Definitely catch them on a 50% off Sale.

I have 3 slap caps. They are all cute, stylish, functional and fun. I use them as a quick cover, dc cap (over baggy) or as an overnight cap. The inside is satin, so no dryness or breakage.

I have a slap cap too. I like it for its functionality but it doesn’t look stylish to me. When I put mines on it looks like I have a head scarf on. I think it might be because I have a small head. I’ve seen a few other reviewers say the same thing. I only use it for emergencies when my hair is wet and needs time to dry. I like it though the quality of the silk cap is definently there. Mine’s hasn’t stretched out yet and I’ve had it for 2 years.

I have two, black and grey, that I bought around this time last year. Last winter I wore the grey one almost every weekday. It stretched out just enough where I would need to buy another one if I wanted to wear it as a day to day hat. I think I used the grey one for dcing once the weather warmed and that stretched it out.

It’s overpriced for the materials and her label is rough, and would catch in my hair half of the time when taking of the hat if I didn’t remove it very carefully. I’m also not a fan of clothing items with the company’s title branded on the front.

However, the creator found a hole in the market and made a product of better quality than most “satin” bonnets that most women have ready access to. I just give her props for the hard work and success she’s had in creating her “brand” and showing continued respect towards black women as she’s expanded.

So I’ll probably buy again at some point is the next year or two but I’m in no rush.

I have the slap and the turban (both black). I can't get the turban to look right on me. I wear my slap cap regularly.

They look too basic. Like she went to Bulk Apothecary for raw materials and slapped a label on it. I’m not mad at her hustle, but I’m good though.

I have one and didn’t get much use out of it for basically this reason.

I can’t stand that the big label has her name front & center. I don’t sport any designer name on any of my clothing or purses. I’ve been told wear it backwards and all that . I don’t want it on the back of my head either. I already paid for the item now I have to advertise for you too?

Couldn't you take a seam ripper or some light tool and remove the tag?

Actually, they don't look stitched down all that well.

In fact, one or two of mine fell off on their own from wash & wear.
