Synthetic kinky weave

I would like to get a weave to give my natural hair a break from braids for about 2 months. I would like to know the following..
if you have worn a kinky weave and what brand did you use? and also did it mat? How did you deal with it? This is my fisrt weave ever and I am a little confused. I have 4a/b hair. TIA and oh you can include pics if you would like.

I guess no one wears synthetic weave.....:perplexed

Hey! *waves*

I have been stalking all of the crochet braids with curly hair on youtube.com and I can't figure out if it's human or synthetic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTDxOgUM1vI

I think it's human? :perplexed IDK but it will be my next style on my C&G Challenge.

Good synthetic hair has always held up better for me than human hair...especially if I work out a lot...but then again, I have always used it for braids so IDK. Maybe for weaves you need human hair? Hopefully one of the weave queens will check in soon.

I wouldn't suggest having synthetic hair sewn in. I've used synthetic kinky hair for phony ponies, but it starts to tangle after about a week or so of continuous wear. You'd be better off with a half wig.

I would suggest heading over to youtube and checking out what halfwigs the naturals are using. Here's one...

I'm still in my synthetic sew-in. It's been a month. I read that this will be your first
weave, so I DON'T recommend syn for a first timer. You may get a little frustrated
with it. I love mine, but I also know what to expect now.

I wash it in braids once a week.
Yes, I get some matting which I combat by de-tangle spray for syn hair.
Then I'll comb and clip out the little knots with scissors once a week.
It still looks great though.
Here is the link to my sew-in. I will be getting it again.I love that its soooo cheap.

If you're going to have kinky hair that doesn't matt you're gonna have to go with quality on this one. You could try Model Model's indi afro curl; it's remy hair (meaning there is an aligned cuticle layer) and is not nearly as expensive as the well known remy kinky brands.

Don't faint.. gorgeous right?!

And you can find more info about it in the links she provided here:

It's $55 (for 14"; only $37 for the 10 inch) but she only used 1 bag! I think in the PM she sent me she said she used 10 inches but the lady in the youtube used 14

You can buy it at hair sisters online:

That hair is GORGEOUS! I remember wanting to try this hair a year ago but not seeing any reviews on it. Thank you!
