Has anyone tried any of these products? What were your results? If you do in future, could you share? That garlic shampoo is actuallly like a Wild Onion soap from Europe which has been reported to be fantastic. Bonjour.

If anyone comes across something unusual post to this thread. It would be fun and helpful to those of us who like to try the unusual.

I've used suphur soap (not the brand on the website, though) and I wouldn't recommend it if you have sensitive skin. I've had good result with it helping clear up my complexion, but my skin seems to get immune to it after a while.

Jamaican castor oil

Mahalialee use that jamican castor oil(huile palmachristi). This one has my stamp of approval. New growth appears quickly. The only downside is that this oil is thick and kind of stinks so I also think it is clogging my pours. This oil has caused me to get new growth like crazy. I use to act stupid about using it because I didnt want any1 smelling my hair from like a mile away but now i cant live without it.

Re: Jamaican castor oil

It's funny....I call it Haitan castor oil ONLY because in the store it is sold as Jamaican/Haitian Castor Oil.

I love the smell of it (even though I know it must smell to others). Actually though - I think its just a nostalgia type thing. Everytime someone goes to Haiti, they ALWAYS come back with "l'huile palma christi" . I was born in US so smelling/using it makes me feel "extra" Haitian.

New growth like crazy huh? I better start using it and stop sniffing it!! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Jamaican castor oil

Lol Davine. Yea I always thought it was haitian oil too until i smelled my friends jamaican castor oil and seen it smelled the same. i didnt know it was castor oil, I just knew that in my family my grandmother used it 4 everything..foot sprain, cold, whateva- the first thing she'd get out is the h'uile palmachristi. I use it and put Profectiv long and healthy over it to kind of mask the smell and moisturize the rest of my hair. I think it smells better than wild growth oil too and from what i know ive gotten more growth from that than wild growth but i dunno maybe i havent been too consistent with wild growth. By the way do you know why you cant rub wild growth in?

I'm going to have to check back to this thread and saveit in my favourites, but thanks for posting the links. I can't wait to have a read of them in my spare time. Don't you know there are enough product junkies on this board without you adding to the drama girl /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

In London, UK, we get West Indian Castor oil, which is a clear colourless and odourless liquid, and it thickens and grows hair nicely.
