What would you put in a "Hair care" gift basket?

Sweetest_Honey

Yes indeed!!
I made one of these after having several "LHCF seminars" with my mom about hair care products and gave it to her for Christmas. I included: a ionic hair dryer with 2 roller brush attachments, Profectiv oil, Surge Plus 14 spray, Woojee lotion (may be saying that wrong) Mane and Tail Conditioner and Shampoo, Nioxin Follicle Booster (?), a nice brush, VO5 strawberrys n cream conditioner and Aphogee treatment, conditioner and some kind of intensive leave-in and put it all in a nice basket. It looked like a picnic for her hair!! I couldnt find the Neutrogena Triple Moisture that everyone raves about when I made the basket, and when I finally did, I kept it for myself. *blushing*
Well, I am considering doing the same thing for a friend of mine and now that I have access to your expertise, I'd like to ask what would you put in a gift basket for someone? Any favorites or cant live withouts? Her hair is thick and in good condition, about chin length, but I know that she is trying to get it growing.

I actually sent my mom 3 tubes of Kenra Intensive Emollient Treatment and one tube of Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat as a Christmas present. She loves the Kenra and her beautician told her that her hair was really strong after using this. She should be set for awhile since she doesn't wash her hair as often.

In the basket, why not include a list of hair tips that you have learned from this board. People can have good products, but if they are not properly caring for their hair, it won't make a difference.

Tell them about weekly washing & cond., streching out relaxers, proper detangling, proper diet, not using products that is unresponsive to their hair, etc.

You know, I didn't even think about a good wide toothed comb. I can't begin to tell you how long I was inadvertently ripping out my hair using the ones with the smaller teeth. The satin scarf and pillowcase are great ideas too! I need to get a pillowcase for myself and my daughter because the scarf never stays on. (Attributable to our big noggins.) Great ideas ladies! I think I will give her a "seminar" and go through each product and hair tips like I did for my mom. Maybe I will make her my Kenra and Aveda guinea pig too, since I have never tried those products myself!

What a wonderful, thoughtful gift. I'd love to do something like that for a friend of mine, but she'd probably use the stuff and follow a regimen for all of a week before she went back to old habits. Then have the nerve to wonder why her hair hasn't been past shoulder length in 15 years.

Lol...Well, I think that the majority of us were all a part of the hard-headed clic at one time or another. Maybe when she sees the example set by your healthy head of hair she will learn the lesson! *writing down Lacio Lacio* That is another one that I have heard alot about! I need to try that one too..

A "hair basket" is a great idea for a gift! I'm stealing it and giving hair baskets to my mom and sisters this year.

a large plain silk scarf (I use one to cover my hair with in cold weather before I put on a wool hood or scarf.)

a good wide toothed comb

small bottles of shampoo, moisturizing conditioner and protein reconstructer (a mixture of Nexxus and Redken)

sampler of oils and butters

maybe some hair sticks too
