White Women Wrap too? The Secret is Out LOL

Yeah, white women do a lot of similar things to their hair as us. I mean, hair is hair--depends on your hair type for somethings, but mostly hair is basically the same and the maintenance/styling is the same.

I went to pick up a white girlfriend at her house to go out before and she was switching half-wigs, asking me which one looked best. lol It has been going on for centuries. People are just now realizing how much we are all a like. :)

I guess it's a Middle Eastern thing too, because the women on my mom's side used to do this exact same thing to straighten their hair out-- then wrap, sleep and unleash in the morning.

I'm not surprised... One of my white coworkers at a past job used to wrap her hair because she didn't feel like washing and straightening it every day. One of her black friends showed her how to do it.

I went to a h.s with a cosmetology program. When we learned how to do a roller set and wrap, we learned these on white women mannequins. So I've always known that you have ww who wrap too :)

They wrap, perm, color, wig, weave, dye, braid, curl, blow fry, flat iron just like us.

It's a hair thing, not a color thing.

did you guys see the results on the 2nd page??
she has gorgeous hair and the color is marvelous :D

Yes I saw the results and wow her hair is so pretty. She did a great job.

I wonder if I can do this with natural MBL hair? I've never wrapped my hair before. I would probably have to go under a dryer.

I went to a HS Cosmetology school (and afterwards a private cosmetology school) and even their black mannequins has the same hair the white ones had :lachen::lachen::lachen: I was like :nono: but hey you gotta do what you gotta do! :yep: it was just ver :lachen::lachen::perplexed:ohwell::lachen::lachen: to me.

They do coconut oil treatments as well :yep: or at least the ones on the haircare forums.

I think when you compare the practices of women on hair-growing forums, you'll find lots of overlap. We are way more alike (esp in our quest to grow beautiful locks :gorgeous: ) than we are different.

^^ Yep, I think the similarities/ overlaps happen mostly on hair care forums, especially with less well-known or used hair care practices i.e. protective styling, ayurvedic hair care etc.

i didnt know about that website... i think i'll recommend that to some of the white homies who are interested in hair.

and yes, her color is to dye for :D lol

if you read through it is hysterically similar... Girls will be girls will be girls all day. Make up hair and dresses are the best thing in the world.... no matter how it manifests from you: boho, glam, rocker, prppy, casual... we just seem to love it... It would be great to bridge these forums... it looks like they do to their hair what we do to ours, they just need different ingredients in the products, different heat temp... but some technique is transferrable...

When I was in high school I found out that some white women wore weaves. At the time I thought it just white women who had black friends. but some years later I found that wasn't really the case. I knew that all kinds of women did roller sets.

I didn't know that white women wrapped their hair though. I guess you learn something new every time you come to LHCF!

wow I didn't know there was a white long hair care forum? lol But the lady in the post was acting like she just discovered this wrapping method so it may not be well known to many white people. idk.

This reminds me of this article I saw in Cosmo, but I haven't read it yet. It caught my attention though because it's called "Get Long Hair Fast" and it has a picture of a WW with her hair soaked in EVOO. *off to read the article now*

ETA: I took a quick looksie over there and cracked up when I saw this:

Hair really is just hair
