BIG hair rather then long hair

I was just wondering whether some ladies here focus on big/thick hair rather then length

I'm asking cause since starting my hair care journey, I've been so obsessed with my hair growing long. then I saw this picture *drool drool*

it made me re analyse what it is I want my hair to look like

I want both. And one comes with the other when you're natural. My goal is to have a big beautiful braidout or wash and go ponytail but that equates to long hair when straightened. Best of both worlds!

She is so beautiful. Believe it or not, thick haired relaxed heads can achieve this too. ;)

I prefer big hair. Its the main reason I became natural. But to get big hair of my dreams my hair must be long.

I just love her!

And yes, I'm a big and thick hair lover! My hair is kind of thin so if I could get this kind of volume I would love it - especially on BSB length hair.

Was this aimed towards naturals? I've learned my lesson as a relaxed head going into such threads. :look: But I will answer. I dont like big hair on me. I like thick, voluminous straight hair. If I can find a picture I will post it.

I don't necessarily think it was aimed at naturals. But, in my case, because my hair is so fine I can't get volume while relaxed. It's one of the reasons I went natural.

I prefer length I guess. I think thats why I prefer to wear in updos or ponytails when it's curly because it gets so big and shrinks so much. I think longer hair with less volume compliments my face best.

I LOVE big hair. In order for me to have huge twist/braidouts that hang past my shoulders I need to grow my hair long. So they go hand-in-hand, IMO. Since I have such fine stands and low density I can only achieve it while natural.

I focus on big hair. I haven't used heat since 2008 and so the way I gauge the true health and vitality of my hair is how voluminous it is. The bigger and thicker it is, the more I'm convinced i'm retaining all of my strands. Also, in using no heat, the only way to leave my hair out is in its natural state, which is in its big hair form. Last, in my mind, the bigger the hair means the longer, thicker hair when it is straightened. I figure, if I focus on big hair, i'll be pleasantly surprised when I do that official length check w/heat.

Girl your baby boy looks like him and Louis Bullock could get together and handle up some folks!

Totally OT, but your kids are adorable.

I want big, long, and thick hair. Just blew out my hair and got a full shoulder length fro, I am so happy, I can't wait to have an APL Fro.

I don't focus on it. It just happens. My hair shows width & girth before it shows length. As a matter of fact my hair shrinks more as it gains health & length:yep: Without stretching I would walk around with a perpetual TWA:grin:

Long hair = big hair. At least in my case.

I think someone else mentioned this, my goal is to have big SL twistout. In order to do that I need the length.

I want both. My hair is fine and my shrinkage is bananas. The top and sides grow out, while my nape grows down.... *sigh* but I love it anyways lol. The bigger the better!
