Mucopolysaccharides - Overview

* Overview

Alternative Names

Glycosaminoglycans; GAG
Definition of Mucopolysaccharides:

Mucopolysaccharides are long chains of sugar molecules that are found throughout the body, often in mucus and in fluid around the joints. They are more commonly called glycosaminoglycans.
Information:

When the body cannot break down mucopolysaccharides, a condition called mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) occurs. MPS refers to a group of inherited disorders of metabolism. People with MPS do not have any, or enough, of a substance (enzyme) needed to break down the sugar molecule chains.

Forms of MPS include:

* Hunter syndrome
* Hurler syndrome
* Sanfilippo syndrome
* Scheie syndrome
* Morquio syndrome

The conditions cause mucopolysaccharides to build up in body tissues. This can damage organs, including the heart. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include:

* Abnormal facial features
* Bone, cartilage, and connective tissue deformities
* Mental retardation

wow, gotta try that Aloe vera.

Where can you buy it?

How long does it take for it to go bad? (fungus development)

Yep, yep! The easiest and probably cheapest most concentrated way to get you some muccopolysacchide benefits in your hair!

(Great for internal use, too. But you got to get the kind made for internal use.)

Aloe vera is said to have Mucopolysaccharides and MSM is said to produce them

Thanks for these links. That first link says that aloe vera gel is made from aloe vera and extract of Irish Moss. New recipe to try!!!

The second link states that the sulphur from MSM creates Mucopolysaccharides. Raw vegetable juices/fresh juices are brimming with this. Drink your vegetable juice ladies and add a tablespoon of concentrated extract of aloe vera (the kind made for internal use only!)

Thanks for these links. Nice post and good question OP!

Rite aid, cvs, walmart, target and any health food stores...The health food stores are better for the larger food grade bottles.
