Count me in! I just had a reality check this morning when I decided to finally get on the scale again. And I was just morified ...I had no idea I had let myself gain soo much ugh!

So I need to lose 75 lbs, not sure how to go about setting the date to make the weight loss goal. I have lost this amount of weight before and it took me about 6 months but I'm a few years older now and have had a couple of kids so I know it won't go as quick as it did before. I think I will shoot for losing 75 lbs by this time next year. I am currently at BSL and would love to be WL next summer!

Hey there sweetie,

I am needing to purchase aerobics & toning dvds. Currently, I only have one yoga dvd(Crunch candlelight yoga) and have had it for years now and really need a change. Lately, I have been reading/hearing alot of raves regarding pilates and would love to get a dvd or two to start out with.

Me too, but i am so intimidated by Pilates...i just dont know if i could hang in there :lachen: HHA (Hip Hop Abs) is very fun!

Super Congrats on your successes so far!! IT is SOOO encouraging to see that so many people are on the same path to success. This really opened my eyes more and now i am more determined then ever! Thanks!!!

I can't wait until i am waist length! My hair is staggering a little over SL, and i am dying for APL!

Thanks dear, the hard part is getting past sl so it should be smooth sailing for you now. You said you were 24, I find the younger you are the easy it is to lose the weight:yep:. Thanks for starting this thread. I didn't realize so many women were in the same boat. BTW, your hair is so silky and shiny. I am still working on that.

Im trying to lose 25-30Lbs. Id like to be around 130-135 (right now Im 154, I was 160 a week ago) Im giving myself till September, even though I know Ill be there wayyy before then. Ive gone back to eating 80% raw foods 20% lean meats and whole grains, with an occasional cheat day. I actually have to be sure to have an occasional cheat day or throw in some cooked whole grains because otherwise the weight pretty much literally melts off in weeks! Even when Im stuffing myself silly! Id LOVE for my hair to make it to APL by the end of this year. I already CBL.

Congrats OP, you will be there before you know it.

I have lost 32 lbs since the beginning of the year and I only have 7-10 lbs to go. I have been growing my hair since Aug '06 and I hope to reach waist length some time early next year but my weight loss is my main focus right now.

I am for sure. I just posted somewhere else that I refuse to be WL and 50lbs overweight. That would just not be acceptable to me.
I agree. I'm not consistent with my hair or my health. I get really lazy and that is a problem. So right now I'm working on consistency in all areas of my life, appearance being one of them.

My goal is to lose 40lbs and be full APL by December of this year.

I totally agree . Hair to my knees is not going to cover my "75 tons of not so fun" body.

I apply this to MYSELF as well. My weight was first priority, as soon as I started getting closer to my goal I then started focusing on my hair.

I started my weight loss journey 10 days ago. I want to be 130-135 lbs. and APL by the end of the year. I have 20-25 lbs. to go and need to grow 3 inches of hair. I plan to be realistic and patient so I'm aiming to lose a pound a week.

I am in there with y'all! I like my hair but I am still trying to grow it as long as possible. I big chopped about 2 years ago, and I am almost at 12 inches of growth. I am a natural 4 a/b who is striving for waist length, and if I don't have any major setbacks I will be there within the next 2 years.

I just recently got serious about my exercise, I am really overweight, and I have let my appearance go in a lot of ways. I am tired of looking this way. My short term goal is to lose about 20-30 lbs by the end of August. That might sound like a lot but when you have as much to lose as I do, it really isn't! I feel so good about the way things have been going lately, and I am really optimistic!

I hope everyone succeeds and gets to where they want to be!

Yes i am on this journey too but i am starting next month!
Everything is rolling together for me to start loosing real weight, FINALLY:yawn:

I would love to be in the 130's, im not setting a goal when because thats whats discouraging..if i do not make that weight by that time then i would be upset! Im taking it day by day, im not going on a diet either but a LIFESTYLE change.

I would also love to be MBL in two years tops!

Thank you .

I bought an elliptical machine and I use it 5 days a week for 45 minutes a day, I have been using it to do HIIT for the last month or so. I did Master Cleanse in April (I highly recommend this for anyone trying to get there eating habits in check) and then I started on the Fat Smash diet. I am also lifting light weights 3 times a week.

I've lost about 10lbs since April and need to lose another 10-11 lbs. I'm hoping I can do this within a month's time from now and also maintain this healthy weight. I will like to be BSL by the end of this year and full BSL by, max, a year from now.

I'm a short stack (4'11) and weight 150ish :perplexed, but verry willing to get some momentum and kick my fat's bootay!!!!:yay: As far as my hair, it's longer than it's ever been since I've taken control of it. I'm currently around APL, and hoping to be pretty darn close to BSL with lots of TLC, moisture, and protective styles!!! Good luck to you ladies as well!!

I started this journey on my own. Started with 3 day raw detox plan, did that once a week. As a result, I became flexitarian. I love it! I lost 15lbs so far, been a little over a month. My goal is to lose 30. I upped my protein intake, whey and soy protein drinks. I have noticed more rapid hair growth. Chlorella and Spirulina are high in protein too, I have been doing that since January.

Best wishes to everyone on this journey.

I guess I am, also! I've lost 18 pounds since around the time of my first BKT. It's so easy to cowash and wash-n-go or wet bun after the gym in the mornings. Especially since using the methods at www.tightlycurly.com.

I've been doing the Anabolic Diet and working out 4 days a week. Loving every minute!

 Hello Ladies! Thanks again for all of your replies and I encourage you all on your weight loss and hair journey. As of Friday, i started a 6am morning workout and a evening workout with my bf. Today is the fourth day, and i must say i feel a lot better!!! I usually do the following:

Treadmill, for 30 mins. Elliptical, 15 mins, and 4 sets of 25 crunches in the AM.

My evening workout is usually a bit more intense. I will be taking a two day break on Tues and Wed to give myself time.

As far as hair, i had my little sister braid my hair up into a ponytail with loose curly ends. Saturday, my pony was afro-ish ( i have some neat pics to upload of my hair), but the style worked well with my added workout activities. Today, i am sporting a banded ponytail to the back of my head --- i had very minimal time after this morning's workout. I am soooo motivated because of everyone! Let me know if you need any extra motivation! Happy growing and happy losing!!

I'm in:grin::grin:

I've been doing the Belly Fat Cure with the ladies on the Health forum. Awesome diet chica's.

It is a low sugar diet -low carb lifestyle change (not really even a diet) and what I've learned about sugar is that it blocks iron from being absorbed into your system. Iron is necessary for hair growth - that is why ladies who are anemic complain about short, broken, brittle hair. I had been eating so much sugar in the past. These last 2 weeks monitoring my sugar intake have really been eye-openers and my hair AND SKIN have improved by 90 percent.
