I'd have to agree on Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm.

But I also like Karens Body Beautiful Luscious Locs, Komaza Hair Care, Hairveda Sitrinillah and Afroveda Ashlii Amla.

Curl Junkie Moisture Rehab, Jessicurl WDT, Hydratherma Naturals Moisture Boosting DC'er (I'll have to think some more).

Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner. Comes in a big bottle for about $13.00. My second fav. is Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose sold at The Vitamen Shop. I'm 4b thick strands and they are both excellent for my hair.

I second ORS replenishing :Rose:. My absolute favorite of all the condishes I've tried to date. Gives me mositure, softness and slip :yep:

100% pure castor oil by itself on wet hair (as an oil rinse--go under dryer before rinsing). Nothing has gone as deep as castor oil. As far as commercial conditioners, the ones w/water as the 1st ingredient tend to be too watered down for my 4b porous hair. However, Aubrey Organics GPB Moisture/Protein Balancing conditioner is the 1st one to actually do something to my hair. Its first 3 ingredients are coconut fatty acid, aloe vera leaf, and wheat germ oil. The ingredients are natural/organic and do what a deep conditioner should do to hair, soften/moisten/stregth.

Edited to add (eta):
I'm sorry, I just re-read your question. I wouldn't use the Aubrey Organics GPB after a protein treatment, it actually is my protein treatment (though its not hardcore). I don't know of any moisturizing conditioners besides my pure castor oil. The moisturizing conditioners that I used after hardcore protein were the ones suggested, like, Nexxus Humectress...it did ok I guess. I haven't found a moisturizing conditioner taht holds true to the name yet. now that I'm revamping my reggie, I may try the Aubrey Organics Moisturizing Conditioner (can be purchased at amazon.com or whole foods market, etc.)...

I've used ORS and agree, my hair is pretty thick and needs LOTS of product but this does the job. I wouldn't say I don't think there is better out there though, still searching but so far this is the best I've tried so far. I like that even when I use a shampoo that leaves my hair a tad matted the ORS softens my hair, that may be good to know if you are looking for softening.

My Honey Child's - Olive You Deep Conditioner, Coconut Papaya Hair Paste, & Organic Shea Butter Hair Paste!! OMGoodness!! I've tried a lot of conditioners and to me these are the best! All natural ingredients!!! It's a bit pricey! So I started mixing some of the same ingredients myself into a less expensive organic conditioner (my mix is still not as good but it will do). But I highly recommened anyone to try them at least once, to see how a good deep conditioning treatment should feel.

Cocoeuro - Be careful with my honey child. I like her products, too. But I don't think she uses a preservative. I remember there being a thread or two about the subject. I still use her products, but add a preservative to the mix.

Curl Junkie Curl Rehab, overnight with a shower cap and then leave it in as well, it saved me from a horrible scary brahmi and protein experience, I attribute 100% of the merit to it.

ORS, Joico moisture balm, or One n Only Argan oil restorative mask (has light protein but I'm not protein sensitive).

Hey, I think she uses Vitamin E has her preservative, but anyway it's cool since the deep conditioners don't last more than a weekend between my daughter and me!!
