Mini Hair Update with pics

Hey y'all, it's been a minute since I had some updates, but its mainly because I havent been doing anything plus I had to get a new camera.

So basically, I tried to do a braid out and it's so arm tiring I gave up and switched to a twistout to finish. I had to get to bed. My twistouts have somewhat improved, and have gotten a little longer from last year (i'll include comparisons) I haven't worn weave since August 16th and I wanted to wait until this summer to get a weave bob install which I'll post pics of too.

I use the usual shea butter/oil mixture and castor oil on the ends before a perm rod.

I noticed the biggest difference is that my hair's touching my shoulder now. So I'm happy there's noticeable progress.

Shrinkage's a beast

My goal is to get bigger looking results that's why i did a braid out, I'm gonna try again and maybe on blow dried hair. I am generally not pleased with my twistouts, but I hope one day I will grow to like them, because theyre not as big-looking as I'd like. I like MopTop/GabbanaGirl's.

Thanks for looking. If anyone has tips on achieving a bigger twistout/braidout look on 4a hair, let me know, I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Hey, love the pics n your hair is thriving. I found I get bigger twistouts by doing bigger twists. I separate 2-4 ways and fluff. I'll pm you a pic or something if thats possible.

ETA: well, apparently you can't pm pics. But Afrostory on youtube does "big" twist outs and results are very similar:

Awwww, you guys are so pretty!!

Anyway, why dont you rake you fingers through it, toss it upside down and scruff it around some more...tease out some pieces in the crown...it looks like you could get it big like u want it. It looks nice now, however! (but I like big hurr too!)
Sometimes if isnt laying right, I grab a handful in the crown, and direct the blowdryer at it the roots with the concentrator nozzle on it...but blow it forward and up instead of downward.

Thank you! I never tried about blowing it out with a dryer, Im gonna try that this weekend for my birthday!

Aww! You're so kind! Thank you. You know one of them was looking on LHCF with me when I was looking at your updates and she said "this girl with the dimples is pretty!" Funny how compliments were made unbeknownst to each other

Thank you so much! I'm scared of teasing natural hair, or maybe just my hair, I think it may tangle. I think I'm bra strap length-ish. Does that make sense?

Thank you! We were all in a no-heat kick so we did that for a day party last year in Austin. Some with weaves, some with bantu knots/braid outs/twistouts. I'm so happy you like them!
