Hair Experiment

Being the naturally curious person that I am :look: I'm going to attempt to use one product line (shampoo, condish, deep conditioner etc) for the next three months to see if there is a difference in my hair. Lately I've been using the same leave-in but using different shampoos/conditioners for whatever reason and I am curious as to what difference it will make to stay consistent. Can anyone recommend any good (decently-priced) lines that offer consistently good products? And please weigh-in if you are a loyal user of one product line and can attest to the benefits of using one line as opposed to 20 bajillion. Also, please weigh in if you have an sort of opinion.

Aubrey Organics gpb (protein balancing conditioner-deep) & honey suckle rose moist deep cond. Best and most effective line I have used. I dilute all shampoos in a color app bottle so as to weaken the drying effect-- i don't like shampoo & only use it on scalp usually (haven't tried theirs). I also went thru a series of hair experients w/different conditioners and moistrizers to find the perfect routine. This is the only one that has made a difference in my hair and that my hair actually responded to. With each treatment, the Gpb strengthens & softens my hair (wow).

Funny you should post this idea for an experiment but I've just decided to try this with my hair also. Plans are to rotate four different natural product lines for a period of 1 month each -- using the full line, from shampoo (if no shampoo then substitute with my Honey Sooq shampoo bar) to stylets. I'm starting with Komaza care, next will try Shescenit, then Enso Naturals, then KBB. Like you I've been mixing various products from diff lines and I hope to narrow down to just 1. Would like to see how my hair responds and if the products work better when used together. My other reason is cost. Most of the natural lines are purchased online so it would be great to cut Down on shipping. Btw, I used Komaza care during my last wash and the results were amazing. My hair felt stronger, softer and definitely moisturizer. Three more weeks to go but so far so good.

The Aussie Moist line is my absolute favorite and I have been pretty consistent with it since my bc in May 2009. You can get the shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner and leave-in for about $15. There are also liter sizes for $5 of the shampoo and conditioner. I experiment here and there, but I always come back to this line.

i recommend sheamoisture...i haven't tried the shampoos, but i've read good reviews on it, and i've tried just about everything else in the line...it's moderately priced, and available at most walgreens and some targets...even if its not in a local store, you can order online from walgreens and get free shipping when you spend $25.

The line I have been using consitently for the past 4 months is Joico K Pack ( shampoo, cuticle sealer, reconstructor and intense hydrator). Pricewise, I beleive it is affordable if you are in the states ( I am based abroad and for me, with the shipping cost it wasn't that affordable). Definitly made a very noticeable difference in my hair.

I've been thinking about doing this with either Mizani or Design Essentials

Thanks, everyone. I decided to go with the giovanni line cause I'm already using their leave-in and it's very affordable. I ordered the smooth as silk conditioner and 50:50 clarifying shampoo. I plan to clarify/shampoo every two weeks and use the sas conditioner as a deep conditioner and rinse out conditioner. I will also continue to use the direct leave-in.

I'll be watching this thread over the next few days to see if anyone else wants to do this. I would love to make this a challenge! Thank you to fairyhairy for suggesting it! :yep: But I admit I've had a subscription to the forum for almost a year and I only just started using it more often. If anyone wants to help me start the challenge or offer some tips that would be great!

Be careful with the Giovanni shampoos, dilute if you have to. I found them really drying especially if you plan on clarifying every two weeks.
