1. do you wash you hair in the twists?
NO WAY! Water messes up my twists.

2. how long do you keep them in?
I usually do medium sized twists and leave them in for 2 weeks. When I tried small twists for the first time, I took them out after 4 days because of boredom. Last night, I just did small twists and I'm hoping I can keep these in for at least 4 weeks.

3. how do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c)
I either wear it out on my pillowcase, or I sweep all my twists back and put on a satin scarf over my twists.

1. do you wash you hair in the twists? Only if i'm taking them down and redoing them. If you just wash you may end up with horrible knots, tangles & matting.

2. how long do you keep them in? Unfortunately my twists stay looking decent only about a week. But I'm starting to make them big so it doesn't take too long.

3. how do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c)I just make pony and put a scarf on.

any other helpful hints?:user: Spritz daily, twice a day. They can get really dry and you don't want to end up with splits & breakage.

1. do you wash you hair in the twists?

No- I get tangles and it starts dreading. I

2. how long do you keep them in? If I twist my hair small and spend a lto of time doing it (like 4-5 hrs) I try to keep them in for 3-4 weeks

3. how do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c)
The first week I just wear a scarf and I waer my twists down, the second week I baggie and continue baggie @ night/bun-daytime until I take them down.

The first week I like to wear them down just for the style, but close to the end of the week I am aware of my ends and how dry and damaged they may get if I keep them out, so I start my baggie routine @ night and wear some type of protective style in the day. I am using sea breeze (for gentle skin) & q tips to clean/freshen my scalp once a week.

Another member's fotki Vmerie was really helpful to me regarding tips for twists etc.

1. If i wash my twists they'll just unravel
2. At max I can keep them for 5-6 days but i have to retwist frequently
3. In carefree's album she had a method for wrapping twists. I do that at night but, if i'm being lazy i just put them in a pony and then my scarf.

I find that if i use gel or pomade mixed with a heavy moisturizer my twists last a lil longer. I usually use elasta qp mango butter and fantasia IC sparkelite gel (blue)

1. Do you wash you hair in the twists? Nope, but I think that I am going to start deep conditioning them with heat before I unravel them for a twistout though. We will see how that goes :look:

2. How long do you keep them in? Usually two weeks - about 7-9 days twisted and then 4-5 days in a twistout.

3. How do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c) I just wear a satin cap. I find that scarfs kinda flatten them...I like them to stay plump.

Any other helpful hints?:user: The smaller the better

1. do you wash you hair in the twists?
Just once (diluted conditionner) so I keep them no longer than two weeks

2. how long do you keep them in?
10 to 14 days

3. how do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c)
I sleep on silk scarf always.
Before: Nothing else
Now: As hair is getting longer I'm obliged to keep them in one braid

1. I don't wash my hair in twists, I rinse them everyday though. No matting or tangles but they get fuzzy and shrink after a while. Here's how my hair looks after rinsing for a few days: http://images18.fotki.com/v348/photos/3/366011/4487060/UntitledTrueColor03-vi.jpg

2. I keep them in atleast a week, then I retwist as needed until I shampoo my whole head again.

3. I wear a scarf at night. They get crinkly but since I rinse everyday, that gets them all going in one direction.

1. do you wash you hair in the twists?
I don't. I'm scared that washing/rinsing without detangling them first will be death to my hair. One day I'll try it.

2. how long do you keep them in?
They look good for abotu two weeks, although I've started on my third week now (they're coming out tonight). I usually retwist the perimeter or some that are super fuzzy after the first week.

3. how do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c)
I sleep in a satin cap, or I first set them on flexirods and then cover. Also sleep on a satin pillowcase.

1. do you wash you hair in the twists?
Yes with dilluted shampoo... a little shrinkage but no major problems
2. how long do you keep them in?
2-3 weeks 1-2 week twist out overall I get the style to last me a month
3. how do you wear your twists at night? (wrap, baggie e.t.c)
Tied up in a scarf (I make sure that the twist are going in the direction I want them to lay)

Extra tips
The key to washing twists for me is washing twists that I did on wet hair (because its already shrunk) with dilluted shampoo. If I wash twist that I did on dry hair they would tangle. But since its already shrunk the hair has no where to shrink or tangle to. It helps that I don't condition after I wash because if I did it would cuase build up and frizz. If I were to condition though I would only co wash (with cheapie cone free con that had been diluted). If you go on growafrohairlong.com you can find instructions on washing your hair in twist.

Steam in the shower to perk the twist up in the morning

Moisturize daily with a spritz (not the bad kind)
