Is anyone here a big fan of styling with custard? What custards have you tried? On a scale of 0-10 (0 = never buy this!, 10 = holy grail!), how do you rate each of the ones you've tried? Lastly, can you describe the way you use custard in your regimen, and can you share your hair's porosity?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience, knowledge, and know-how!

My hair's porosity is (low, medium high):

Custards I've tried, with rating in parentheses after each:
  1. Custard name #1 (rating)
  2. Custard name #2 (rating)
  3. Custard name #3 (rating)
How I Use Custard in My Regimen:

Well the label calls it kinky curly curling custard and I love the stuff. This is a 10 for me. HG status. I don't differentiate custards from gel but it isn't at all drying to my hair. I've been using it since 2014. Nothing I've tried compares. I really only wear wngs so I apply the product on soaking wet hair from root to tip, smoothing repetitively until clumps form and separate, when held with tension.

My hair is low/normal porosity. I use it diluted for wngs, and straight for slicking my hair up (although I need a scarf to set).

I've also tried Beautiful Textures Custard, apart from the scent (nice but strong) that was a big fat fail. I give it a 2.

@AbsyBlvd I always forget that kccc is a custard. I would give it a ten. I don't know my porosity. I have used Cantu custard before I liked it but I would have to give it a 4 because it would flake eventually. I've also used creme of nature twirling custard it was ok I would say it was a 6. I do wash n goes 99% of the time so I've always had used custards on soaking wet hair.

I'm curious about how people feel other custards compare to KCCC.

I know there's an Obia custard, a Design Essentials honey custard, an Ouidad custard for kinky hair . . . a Silk Elements custard, I think. I know there's gotta be quite a few more.

I can't quite figure the Obia custard out. Love the ingredients, though!
