I tried myashas sunkissed pomade but that didn't work, Also what do you use for your twistouts & braidouts to give it sheen, Sheabutter is not an option, it does nothing for my hair LOL!!!!!

Thanks

For wash n gos, I get a really great shine boost by smoothing in a little Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Ginko Leaf and Ginseng Root Hair Moisturizing Jelly over my leave-in.

Braidouts...the best product I've used so far (that's also cost effective) is ORS Olive Oil (a cream) mixed with a little IC Fantasia gel for hold on dampish/dry hair and it gives a very nice shine/sheen.

These products give my hair sheen:
1. Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade
2. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
3. Burt's Bees Avocado Butter (this stuff is excellent for braid/twistouts.)

I absolutely adore Organic Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Alma Oil. But my absolute favorite is Coconut Oil and Dabur Light Alma oil. They give sooooo much sheen and they both make the hair soft. Look at my pics, that shine is from Alma! :D

Hope this helps luv!

Smooches! :p

Definitely, avacado oil and Dabur Vatika coconut oil. For twists I used to LOVE Ors loc and twist gel, now it causes flakes so I am switching to Qhemet honeybrush gel.

You know one time, I had to wash my hair but I was out of town without products. I combined some mayo, Olive oil, Castor Oil and a huge dollop of honey. I wrapped my hair in a bag and let it sit for an hour. When I rinse I had this gorgeous sheen. I did not leave any of it in my hair of course and I did not apply any other product because I did not have it but my hair was gorgeous.

I like using the Oyin burnt sugar pomade and Garnier Shine Wax. I also dyed my hair black with henna and indigo which has made a huge different.

right now my glycerin mix is doing a great job but i've also gotten fantasic shine and bling from fantasia IC (that clear one in the shorty jar, not sparklettes).

someone mentioned honey - yep that too worked really well. i got a great natural sheen - especially when i deep conditioned, rinsed and when it dried.

if and when i ever decide to flatiron again, i'll go back to biosilk.....i got fantasic results from that on my transitioning hair, both sides of the demarcation line.

i tried using oils (i've got wild growth, avocado, jojoba, carrot, coconut, sweet almond, grapeseed) after i bc'd and my hair doesn't seem to like them like it did when i transitioned so i'm oil free.

whoops, forgot about the castor oil - i haven't used that since i've bc'd either but i'm mildly curious.

i'll try again in the winter time maybe i could try them in a hot oil treatment or something.

Consistent DCing gives my hair a nice natural sheen. When I am wearing my hair in twists or pulled back and I want a little extra bling, castor oil!! I looove regualar ol' clear castor oil....its my staple of staples.

I DC weekly, cuz well moisturized hair has it's own sheen. To bump it up a notch, I henna once a month. As a styling product, I use either Burnt Sugar, Lenzi's Hair Souffle, or Palm Kernal Oil.

My avi is my hair, no product but the Hair Souffle.... blingbling!

Can you buy the Qhemet Honeybrush gel from Sally's? If not do you know where it can be bought, I'm having the same problem with the Ors gel flaking, Thanks in advance,
