What products do you reach for when you want to awaken your scalp? Especially anything that gives you that cool, tingling, refreshing feeling. (shampoos, conditioners, leave-in, EO, etc)

I tried a pre-poo using aloe vera gel straight from the leaf; I like how it felt on my scalp. Not tingly, but it was refreshing.

Tea tree oil is the best! I mix with a penetrating oil for an hour or so before washing. It really cleans the follicles.

ACV on a cotton ball and applied to the scalp is good too. Don't let it sit too long or you can dilute it. No tingles but straight clean and refreshing. HTH

I usually add peppermint oil and lemon oil to my shampoo when I want some stimulation, since I'm massaging my scalp anyway.

Tea tree works but is too medicinal smelling for me. Rosemary oil is not only medicinal smelling but it is also linked with raising blood pressure.

If you're pregnant, really research which EOs to avoid. Some can cause premature labor. I personally avoided the tingly EOs when I was pregnant last year. But I loved sweet orange, grapefruit, lavender and lemon oils.

GL! :)

Last night I tried the onion juice/cayenne pepper pre-poo....at first I was nervous because my scalp felt a little prickly. ( i figured it was the cayenne pepper) But it faded away after a few minutes. I'm going to see if this works to liven up my scalp.

I have never tried J. Monique products. This is the first I'm hearing about them. What are your faves from her line?
@Smiley79
I like the Pre-Poo & the Dead Sea Mud Mask (although it's messy). It is a great Cleanser and Detoxifier. I also like the Cleansing Conditioner and the Bo.dy Butters.

I have the Triple Seaweed, The Burdock Root & Nettle and a few others (Coffee, Charcoal. Hibiscus etc...)

The Triple Seaweed and the Burdock Root are great. I also used the Bentonite and Rhassoul, which were good.

If you approach them like the Treatments they are (Nourishment For Your Hair) and not something that is going to give you slippy-slip, and detangling abilities like Hot Butta' I think you will/can enjoy them..

I like the Dead Sea Mud Hair Wash because it leaves my hair fully cleansed without drying it out plus my hair becomes a lot more manageable and agreeable with my other hair products for weeks afterwards.

I also love the Rum and Raisin Body Butter. It smells delicious plus it is quite emollient and moisturizing, especially on my heels, elbows and knees. I do put it on my whole body however, at least on the parts that I can reach.

Amla Cool Oil (you can get it on amazon). Heat it up a bit (I place a ceramic mug in a boiling pot of water for a minute or so), rub it on your scalp, put on a baggie and even a heat cap. You can also inhale deeply and it will open up your sinuses if you have a cold. I seem to feel the benefits more on damp scalp, so try spritzing scalp with water first. I would plan on shampooing it out afterwards though. It is very smelly, and that says a lot for me to say that because I love herbal smells.

It is VERY strong though. I think it's one of the strongest.

Balsam Paprika hair Mask: Also on amazon. Put it on, put on a plastic cap, wait for 10 minutes and then you will FEEL IT. I'd definitely do a spot check first, you don't want to cause any irritations.

This is a similar burn to the paprika masque, but I didn't find it quite as strong - not to say it isn't strong at all. Definitely do a patch test.

And of course, LHDC (Long Hair Don't Care) on Etsy. This is a cowash, it's nice and tingly and I use it almost every day in the summer.

I felt like I'd have more oils on this list, but I'm drawing a blank.
