A Review of Kerastase vs. Kerapro

Hello Ladies,
I have seen a few threads asking if anyone who has used Kerastase has tried the new line from Sally's Kerapro, which is supposedly comparable. To my knowledge, no one had. In those threads people reported that they loved Kerapro, but there were no comparisons.

There is a member here who uses Kerastase exclusively and has one of the most amazing heads of gorgeous, healthy relaxed hair I've ever seen. Nadege of Relaxed Hair Health did a feature on her, and I was immediately intrigued. Then Nadege bought some Kerastase for herself and I swear it sounded as if the product was worth MORE than its weight in gold from her review.

I wanted Kerastase for myself but ladies - no matter how badly we want something, or how "worth it" we think it may be sometimes we just can't afford it! I just could NOT plop down $60 on a regular sized container of conditioner. It got so bad that I went into a salon that carries it and just stared for about 30 minutes and left without it! :look: But I'm serious!:lachen:

So anyways, I asked Nadege if she had tried them (she gives the BEST friggin reviews) and if the Kerapro was comparable. Although she hadn't heard of Kerapro until I contacted her she graciously went out and bought it to do a comparison review for us! :yep:

Nadege's bottom line? Yes it does compare very well as far as moisturizing results. See her full review here:
http://relaxedhairhealth.blogspot.com/2011/12/kerapro-how-does-sallys-version-of.html which features some of my thoughts about Kerapro! Even though I'm not long enough to be a feature (yet) I'm excited to be included on her blog!

1st Conditioner Experience
1st Wash with all Kerapro (shampoo, conditioner & elixir)

Just in case there are some ladies out there who are curious about the new Kerapro line and especially if it does at least give a fraction of the results people report from Kerastase. The entire line is on sale at Sally's for $5 each for the entire month. Hope this helps someone!

Thank you so much for this! My hair loves this conditioner and right now it is $5 at Sally's until 12/16 so I bought 4 jars of it today.

I agree with you, there is nothing in this world that would get me to spend $60 on a regular jar of conditioner.

I LOVE the conditioner for dry to very dry hair. It softens and moisturizes very well. :yep: Definitely going to stock up while I can.

I now want to try Kerastase and see if it's worth $60.....to me. I think I'll break down and order a jar.

I'm gonna have to try the KeraPRO (sooner or later) since I cannot fathom spending that kind of money on the Keratase brand even with my PJ ways. The PJ monster is gonna have to sleep on that one. :lachen:

Thanks for the review :), I put Keratase in the unicorn tears category.. I'll get around to trying KeraPro soon enough, maybe when I start experimenting with heat.

I've been wanting to try this and Frederic Fekkai for a minute but money is super tight. KeraPro seems to be a great alternative.

I just picked a jar of the Intensive Treatmeant yesterday. I love the Keratase Nutri Thermique mask but I'm out of it. I hope this is a good dupe for it.

Don't, unless you are doing it to satisfy your curiosity:look:. And I'm a HUGE Kerastase fan. The masks are awesome, but there are equally awesome conditioners and masks at a lesser price. And I've bought the masque oleo-relax TWICE, the Masquintense for thick hair maybe once and the Chronologiste ($$$) TWICE  (hangs head in shame, lol). They are all excellent but for the size (200 Ml) and for us black women who usually have lots of thick hair, those jars will be gone in no time. Granted, you do not have to use lots but definitely more than the quarter size amount they recommend :lachen:

I did definitely see a difference in my hair when using a Kerastase regime, but it is not feasible for $ reasons.

I still use some Kerastase products that have worked for me and will continue to buy: the Oleo Relax shampoo, the Bain de Force shampoo, the Sublimateur Jour daily moisturizer, both Nutri thermique and Ciment thermique, the Noctogenist cream, the Fibre Architecte serum and the Oleo relax serum.

ETA: The vials are great if you want to look at those instead of the masks.

I just need to stop buying more products, use up what I have and buy the Alfaparf range for my hair which is my goal for this year hairwise.

Thanks!!

I downloaded a pdf document with an Alfaparf regimen:

http://alfaparfeduc.com/global/assets/pdf/world_care.pdf

I want several products of each range to customize my regimen
Midollo di Bambu: rich in proteins
Nutri Seduction: rich in lipids
Semi di Lino: rich in minerals

I already have the Linea Salone from them (Rigen and Real Cream).
