Bonnet/hooded dryer

Hi everybody! :drunk:

I have been natural for 1.6 years. I always wear my hair curly. I bought a hooded dryer 2 months ago. Right now it's winter, so, everytime i wash my hair (once or twice a week) i sit under the dryer with my leave in conditioner and coconut oil for 45 minutes (185 F) until my hair is completely dry.

I just want to know if i can get heat damage doing this twice a week? Is this temperature ok? How safe are the hooded dryers?

Also can i do rollerset without heat damage? Im so afraid of heat!!! i had heat damage before because i was using blow dryers and flat irons too often.

I just want to know your experiences, ladies!!! Im so scared. :perplexed

I don't think you can get HD from a bonnet dryer as that is considered indirect heat... I'm pretty sure you will be fine. But if you are still worried maybe you can alternate with the bonnet and air drying throughout the week.

Hopefully others will come in a provide their expertise as I almost always airdry:yep:

I am natural and have been Rollersetting weekly for over a year and have had no damage.

You should checkout the setting to success thread to see how women are safely using their dryers

Your hair is beautiful...yes you can give roller sets a try. Not sure about the heat damage from a hooded dryer but I don't think so as a lot of ladies here tend to use them and still have gorgeous hair without heat damage. You can join us in the roller setting thread and there tons of info over there and hair porn lol

I have no expert advice to give since I'm learning as well, but I did want to say your hair and its color are gorgeous. :)
