I've always known how PS styles work for me and cornrows, flat twists etc. But UGH the prep for doing that meaning setting an apt, get ready to pay at least $60 makes it harder. I'd rather twist up my hair for FREE lol. IDK, I might have to get back on this braided bandwagon. Ladies, mount up!

I tend to base my progress on the amount of year's that other people have spent growing their hair and I thought in 4 years I'd be at WL which puts me at the end of 2010. But it's not enough. I want full WL lightly blowdried hair and I'm not there yet unless I press it. Looking at these pics I have a couple more years to in order to achieve obnoxious hair like LHDC...I'll wait, no prob.
 
Thanks so much for the encouragement at times I'm like I really would like to see my hair but when I hear words which is most of the time only on LHCF and see hair like hers I keep on pushing. You stay encouraged also girlie.

I agree with what you're getting at. People have a pre-defined # of follicles. It's a matter or realizing one's follicular potential - if your hair is constantly breaking (creating an unevenness) or follicles in certain areas (ie temples) need stimulating, your potential won't be realized. In her case, she has above-average potential for thickness and she's realized that potential by growing out her layers, retaining strands and not putting too much stress on her follicles with a low-mani regimen. Someone with less potential can be doing all the "right things" and still have less thickness.
 
OMG Her hair is Bonkers!!!!!!! I wish I could wear braids longer than a few minutes or I would be all over that!!!! She is my motivation for thicker hair :grin::grin::grin::grin:
 
Thanks for sharing, BMP. I had to pause and just stare at frame 4:23--the shine on her french braid, I don't think I've seen anything like it. :spinning:

How on EARTH does she keep her hair looking so STRAIGHT?? It's almost like over time, her hair got to be "trained" to stay somewhat straight.

Seriously, her album just gave me so much PRIDE for black hair. Our hair is GORGEOUS! And so versatile! :yep: I'm almost ready to do a BC and go natural after watching this video! :lachen:
 
Thanks for the post BMP this has inspired me to try cornrow. I was getting tired of the individuals, but they gave me such great retention, they are a pain to take down as my hair grows longer. LHDC gives me hope that cornrows will work. I just wonder how does she keep the frizzies at bay for 4-5 weeks?
 
Her regimen is quite simple, I think she only washes her once and then she does a deep conditioning treatment, then she blows dries to avoid the knots and the matting. Her method is very KISS! But her hair is to die for! I wish there was some music to go with the video.
