I sure wish I could have a braid regimen but cornrows and my hair dont get along. They look a month old by day 3 and they start to unravel slowly but surely at both the ends and the roots. Its weird.

Yeah, but I can't get what's in my head to transfer itself to my hands.
I've been wanting to get this down ever since I went natural 14 months ago. I did better with yarn braids than I've done with cornrows.

However, I have picked up some tips. Since my hair is crazy thick, I think I'll try to blow dry it a little and make smaller parts. Hopefully that will help.

Oh and to figure out how to keep the braid from starting an inch back onto my head...

Yarn braids is a *great* PS to do. I'm definitely doing those soon. I gotta figure out what I want my next PS to be. Once I take these crochet braids down I'll wear it straight and enjoy my progress for two weeks then it's back into some sorta longterm PS right now it seems it's between Senegalese twists, kinky twists and yarn braids...we'll see

I am pretty sure her hair is 4a/4b also. She says so in some of her other videos. Check them out. She even has one where she shows what her hair looks like right after washing. (Can you tell I am obsessed with her)
I will get there one day maybe not that thick... who am I kidding I would need 5 heads to have hair that thick But the length is doable. If I can resist wearing my hair down.

Her hair is beautiful...however, I'm believing that her Hair indeed is in a league of it's own.

It is totally on point the color, the thickness, the lushness. I have seen many on this forum with great long hair but not that smooth and lush and thick all at the same time.

I can cornrow my hair from now 'til doomsday and it will never be in that league. Never, ever.

She is very fortunate and obviously takes a lot of time caring for and nurturing her hair. I envy her.

The hair porn that is posted from time to time is inspiring and sometimes we can take different points from some but some of us will never reach these goals.

My hair is kinky, coily 4B it will never look like that .

cornrows are always a good look, when I stretched in 05 for a year at the end of the stretch I had cornrows done wore them for a month and switched them up every 2 weeks because the hair was growing like crazy.

I love longhair's hair.

Have you considered box braids or using a little Jane Carter Nourish and Shine on your hair before cornrowing? I have what I call "creepy crawley" and the N&S makes it stay in place, plus it moisturizes my hair for days at a time. HTH.

OMG...It took all my strength not to make audible noises here @ work. Her hair is simply beautiful. Our textures look similar so now I must go read the regimen. I will attest to the braid thing, I do mine for 6 mos a year and it is great!!! I will be braiding my hair in May and I cannot wait!
