Salutations,

I am in need of hair ideas STAT! Thursday, I am going to a Ball called the Harlem Renaissance. My dress is a simple black dress that does have some 40's flair to it. And I have black patent leather, peep toe shoes.

I really need a BAD 1940's hairstyle. My hair is thick and past SL (I'm going to straighten it so I have more to work with), and I've been looking up some styles, but I figured I would come here and maybe some of my hair divas could assist me. :prettyplease:

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

I googled some stuff for you :)

You should try a googles search on Dita Von Teese. She really epitomizes 1940's glamour and style.

I think doing a roller set (finger comb the curls out) with a flower pinned on the side would be really cute :yep:

from doing a lil' search, 40's styles are going to be wavy hair, which you would do with pin curls, soft finger waves, and marcel curls, you can do the marcel curls easy,

you use a curling iron and place it on the hair hold it for a few seconds until you see a wave, you use the curling iron as if you were using a waving iron, you move down the strand creating soft waves, this method the hair comes out amazingly sexy and retro.

something like this would look beautiful on sl length or any length hair, and it looks simple and like something that would hold up for the whole night, just buy a hair net, make sure the hair is smooth as possible curl the ends under and pin curl the top half of the hair and voila.

Thank you guys! :grouphug2: I actually am thinking about parting my hair and doing two victory rolls, and wearing the back down...I love me some Lena Horne!

A couple of my friends are doing the finger wave thing...so I want to throw something else out there!
