MBL (flat ironed) is my ideal terminal goal. I don't know how maintenance on natural hair that length will be:scratchch. I'm APL now shooting for BSL next. We'll see.
the longest i want my hair would be about mbl or wl (im still undecided) and waist length is the absolute longest ill let it go, but if i ever decide to go natural i would like my hair to be about hl stretched and with my shrinkage that would be about bsl
The longest for me is waist length just because I know I can make it that long. Ultimately, I would keep it at BSL for maximum handling and management and styling options. For natural tresses, that's a lot of hair.
WL. I want to feel my hair in the small of my back. I'll probably do a lot of buns though because that's a lot of work to rollerset, which I currently do every week.
Waist Length (at least that's what I'm saying now). I'd just like to see how it is to have that amount of hair on my head. Then if it's too much I'll maintain my length at MBL. Though I think I'll like it just fine at WL.
Like my siggy is Hip Bone stretched...but I may re-think that because my hair is so short, I can't ascertain my shrinkage level (and even if my hair was longer, I still don't know the formula everybody uses to determine their shrinkage...lol) so when it's natural, IDK it's wild..it will do what it wants but when I wear twist-outs (which is what I will most likely be doing) I want it to hit APL or BSL or even MBL...I figure I have 4 years to go.
I'd let it grow to knee length if it got that long, lol. I'm just letting it grow...if it goes to the floor then ok, I'm not doing any drastic cutting EVER again. I've chopped 16" in 1 day before, and though I loved going from MBL to ear length, I much prefer my long, thick hair. I really love uber long hair and I can't wait to have my own WL and longer. I figure I will be at WL by January.
I'm currently WL, but I've been wondering what I'll do when I reach Classic since that is my ideal length. I wondered if it would be weird to have thigh length hair or beyond.
Then I saw that girl with knee length hair. I'd never seen knee length hair on a black girl before, so at least now I can imagine it, and I know it looks great.
My ideal is still classic, but I don't have a problem with the longer lengths now either.
I plan on seeing how far my hair can grown with no solid goal in mind. I can't imagine going beyond MBL, though. Someone else said that the sight of gobs of hair is actually bothersome and I agree. I saw a woman in the craft store with knee-length hair and it was so nasty! It was clean and brushed, but something about it put me off. I think of it has to do with your hair type though. I find women with thicker strands of hair look more appealing at greater lengths as do people who just have lots of hair. But being that my strands are very fine, I don't think it'll look good beyond MBL.
My 6 y/o is natural with WL hair and let me tell ya it is a BEAST to try to keep up with....it takes me 2 days to wash, condition and style her hair which I keep braided up and if I don't detangle weekly then the tangles are MASSIVE.......that being said.....I will grow my hair to WL stretched (full SL or APL shrunken) and maintain that length with minor trims.
When I first found the hair boards my dream length was that "Fairytale, myfical, hairlength hair" ie. classic length... But after realizing how babyfine and fragile my hair is natural or relaxed ill be happy with super blunt hiplength.
