LAVATECH TOOLS

hi there,

never heard of lavatech tools but am really interested in that hair dryer, though.

Hey Tishee! I'll update the post w/any new info. I cant find much info on the web. I'll call my local LAVATECH rep. and keep diggin. I'll upate the post w/any new info. TTFN!

I have the Lava Tourmaline pressing comb in my basket on Amazon.com, but haven't completed the purchase yet. I couldn't find any reviews either on the comb, but their dryers got good reviews, so I am willing to get it. Right now I use a Gold n Hot electric comb.

Hey Lotus,

These weren't reviews from people I know. Walmart has a brand called Select pro that is very similar (possibly the same) and especially the pressing comb with the guard. The select pro dryers got good reviews and I think I may have been comparing those (sorry).

Here's the walmart link: http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=4044&search_query=select+pro&ic=24_0

There is one good review for the Lava blow dryer w/straightening comb (similar to the infiniti) -- but nothing for the tourmaline pressing comb

There's a company called Cosmetic Solutions that sells a lot of the Lava products, but no reviews there (which could mean it's too new or something bad) LOL.

Good lookin' out! Appreciate cha'!

I didnt get a chance to do any additional fact finding yesterday. Had a couple things come up. I called local rep and left mssg and I'm waiting for a call back. However, the lady I spoke with did tell me that the corp. office number and that number list SELECT BRANDS http://www.selectbrands.com/productView.cfm?productID=C-200 as the manufactorer. I took a look at the web site and if price is any indicator of quality... I'ont know :perplexed.

ok, i went ahead and purchased the lava tech pressing comb. i told lotus i would post results.

i think it's a good come for HOME pressing....it got my 4b hair straighter, but not sleek (i need professional service for that:grin:). I like that it is tourmaline etc. It got really hot, the teeth are small and it has a heat guard for protection if you want to use it.

This is pics of my hair styled with it: Twisties-tourmalinepress.jpg

Thank you, I purchased it too and I got it today. I hope I will have great results, I am also a 4b.

I think you will like the comb. The temperature range goes up to 400 and I used 350. Next time I will try 375 or even 400 :):look::grin: and see how that goes.

What do you use to press with? I used Biolage Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner and pressed with the Biolage Smoothing Serum. My hair was soft. However, it did revert back some sooooooooooo I have to improve technique or add another product.

Has anyone used the Kemy Smokeless Pressing Creme to press or flat iron? I need to add SOMETHING else to the serum lol.

I have the Lavatech pressing comb. I don't feel that I am qualified to give a review since I am still practicing at flat-ironing. I will come back when I've gotten a solid flat ironing technique.

abioni and fatimablush

I had talked to this company and they actually came out with new designs for all of their hooded dryers. The new dryers are available at luxe beauty supply. Here is a pic of the new models I plan on getting the soft bonnet when i get my money right.
