I know some of these have been posted before but she has some updates. I was in a serious funk yesterday about my hair trying to get out the door for an event au natural. So I went looking for natural hair online today of the 4BZ kind and noticed she had a new yt up.

Hopefully these will help someone who is having some challenges, not sure what to do or just needed some inspiration.

Here are two vids where she is telling her story and why she went natural.

This is probably one of the greatest inspirations for me personally so far. Reason being, my hair type is much like hers and to see in her fotki how short her hair was before.... O.M.G.! (it was neck length as a relaxed girl and darn near shaved as a natural)

i watched it this morning too!

i admire her for being honest. when i first went natural i had the same mindset - "if i don't like it, i can always go back to relaxing."

half the time i wasn't listening to her though, i was just staring at her tresses

I love her hair!! I also love how she is not militant about being natural - such a gentle soul. She is an inspiration and was instrumental in my decision to go natural.

That is one of the main reasons she is inspirational to me. You see some serious before and after with her pics and with it being the texture that it is, it really is good for sistah's like us with that texture to see someone who has reached that long natural hair status as a 4BZ.

Ah..... her hair makes me drool seriously, it's not funny. I still think my hair is kinkier than hers. I must be a 5 something, sigh....

Thank you for sharing this. Her hair is simply beautiful and it is inspiring to see that those with this hair type can also achieve their hair goals.

Not necessarily. You should really look at her hair at the roots.

Remember, her hair is long, and she seems to keep it stretched a lot (which is very helpful in order to avoid tangles when you have natural hair that long). She dry detangles with oil, she flat irons sometimes, and she twists on dry hair, all of which help with stretching.

I remember as a child we used to wash our natural hair every two weeks, and for about a week after washing, the hair was really shrunken and coiled tight, but with repeated oiling, combing and plaiting, by the second week it had stretched out and gotten bigger, "longer" looking, and more manageable.

Wow! Can we all start a Sera252 challenge? Her hair is amazing. :drunk:

I'm still going through the videos and have checked her fotki. Not sure about all the styles she uses to maintain her hair. Is it braids and buns?

editied to say: I'm watching her bunning/protective styles video now. These are going to be my summer styles.

I agree with the above poster, let's start a Sera252 4b growout challenge! I think it would be great or maybe just a general challenge in case other folks feel excluded. What do you all think?

What would be the guidelines? Lord knows I would love to see some 4BZ in this forum with length like that completely natural w/o heat alteration at least 99% of the time. I have nothing against anyone using heat I just want to see some long haird ladies with 4BZ texture w/o alteration.

How many do we have now on this forum that has hair texture and length like hers unaltered?

I know of Sonce. Any others?
