Silly question: How do I do a braid out?

I have never worn one and transitiong is killing me! I am in the weave challenge, but will be taking it out soon and going a week in between getting it put back in. I do not want any heat on my hair. Please help a newbie out! erplexed

What I do is wash my hair and towel dry, apply leave-ins and oil then braid or twist my hair in about 8 big braids (two on each side and 6 in back).

Traycee just did a great video tutorial. I'll see if I can get the link for you.
