Vinegar rinses after relaxing?

I know that some women on this forum do vinegar rinses to help bring their pH back to balance after relaxing before they use their neutralizing shampoo. My question is, do I really even need to use a neutralizing shampoo if I rinse my hair thoroughly after relaxing then follow up with a strong vinegar rinse. The way I figure a neutralizing shampoo has to be acidic in order to bring a your hair (which is made basic after relaxers) to a neutral/slightly acidic pH. But if I can get the same affect using vinegar I would rather bypass the whole shampooing process. TIA :).

Just found this old thread on it. I'm going to try it and let you guys know how it works. I won't be relaxing until next month, but I'm going to mix equal amounts of vinegar and conditioner together and neutralize my hair with that, then I'll use one of my shampoo bars to get rid of any oil residues, then I'll follow up with another vinegar wash. That should neutralize it pretty well.
