What does Cetaryl Alcohol and Parabens mean on the back of ingredients for products?

I saw this on the back of some Gold Care Free Curl (I think by Soft Sheen). I was wondering if it is bad because it made my hair feel really good and it is a water-based moisturizer with aqua as the 1st ingredient, and silicone as the second. I think.
