2. What sort of heat do you use? (blow dryer, heat cap, hot towels) etc.

3. Do you use a special 'deep conditioner' rather than a normal conditioner?

I always use heat because it opens the hair shaft for the product to penetrate and it would not be a deep conditioner without heat.

2. What sort of heat do you use? (blow dryer, heat cap, hot towels) etc.

I use a bonnet blow dryer. I occasionally put a plastic cap on and wrap a towel around my head to genarate natural heat when I have already deep conditioned that week with heat.

3. Do you use a special 'deep conditioner' rather than a normal conditioner?

Always, I use protein or moisturizing deep conditioner.

4. Do you add other things to your deep conditioner?

Never

My answers in burgandy and great thread. :yep:

Yes, always

Steam, it is the best way to deep condition imo

3. Do you use a special 'deep conditioner' rather than a normal conditioner?

I use intensive conditioners - they are the only conditioners I own

4. Do you add other things to your deep conditioner?

Not really, but I have sometimes added drops of oil, meadowfoam seed oil and strawberry seed oil, the latter gives the hair a lovely fragrance

Special DC's Right now I love pumpkin puree. Most regular con's are too watery and don't penetrate enough for me.
4. Do you add other things to your deep conditioner?
Nope.
As much as I spend on DC's it better come with everything I need already mixed in.

Thanks for the replies.

What's a bonnet dryer?

I also thought I'd make a list of the ways you can use heat as people list them. So the ones I can think of are.

Hooded dryer.^^
(I'm not sure if there are other names for this one?)

Handheld hairdryer ^^

Hot towels
Steam
Heated cap
Plastic cap and body heat

Any others?

I sit under my hooded dryer or my Space Lady bonnet dryer. I think my deep conditions are better with the space lady dryer for some reason. It seems to disperse the heat better and my hair benefits more from it. I also get to walk around while it is on.

1. First of all, do you use always use heat when you deep condition? 95% of the time i do.

2. What sort of heat do you use? (blow dryer, heat cap, hot towels) etc.
i sit under my hooded dryer mostly; other times i will put on my foil cap for a few hours while i do other things.

3. Do you use a special 'deep conditioner' rather than a normal conditioner?
i typically use deep conditioners, but once in a blue moon will doctor up a "normal" conditioner (like Aubrey Organics HSR or Keracare Humecto)

4. Do you add other things to your deep conditioner?
i add other things about 50% of the time; honey, oils, aloe vera gel/juice...

Not to hijack, but is the Space Lady dryer cordless? And if so, where can I find one? I just googled the term but no results :nono:

I think she may be talking about this one....

LOL, we've all gotten a kick out of it. It's by gold n' hot. It's their soft bonnet dryer.

I use heat as well, 20-30 mins, with a shower cap and a soft bonnet attachment piece onto my hand held dryer.

I use a conditioner specifically for deep conditioning, and I usually don't add anything to it.

Girl, the space lady dryer is the term we use here. It does have a cord.
I have mine on an extension cord, so I can clean the kitchen, fold laundry, straighten up my room, whatever. I can even chill out on the couch or bed and read. Love it.

I just prefer that people not see me with it on.
