Spinoff: LHCF Was Wrong When They Said...

Shikakai powder is the truth. This a damn lie. That stuff got into my eyes three damn times during one wash session. I felt like cyclops from x-men when he took off his visor. My eyes were on fire!!!! And my hair was super dry and required a super moisturizing DC after that mess.

Shea Moisture is the truth. That stuff made my hair hard :perplexed

The only product from that line that I like is the Shea moisture moisture retention shampoo..that's definitely my staple shampoo. A lot of their other products I tried sucked and dried the hell out of my hair

"Lies LCHF Told Me."

Henna.

This red dye from the devil straightend my 4a hair so much it looked like an underprocessed relaxer and murdered any curl definition. And it took years for that mess to grow out. And it dried the heck out my hair, too.

I almost considered BCing to get my curls back.

Denman? Lies.
Tangle Teezer? Mo lies.
Hairveda Sitranillah Conditioner. Ya'll STAY lyin' bout this citrusy mess.
"You don't need protein/just moisturizing products only?" Lies from the beast with 7 horns. My hair is SUPER fine and needs a regular dose of skrong protein to ack right.
Co-washing daily? Only if I want to be bald. My fine hair can't take all that manipulation.
It's appropriate to spend $60 on Ovation? Unless you're paying for it, no, it's not.
Bunning to waist-length? Tell that to my snatched edges...

Naw, homie. I learned today. Everything don't work for everybody. I stick with what works for ME.

I treat everything else as advice and not Gospel...

Taking out my ballpoint pen to consign on the Hairveda Sitranillah LIES! Made my hair a hot straw mess!

People acted like I renounced Jesus when I said I didn't like it!!! :lachen:

Co-signing on that shea moisture mess. I've had my curl enhancing smoothie for about 6 months & I only use it as hair perfume. I will not buy it again... junk has no slip, but it shol smells good.

I also don't use a leave in condish unless I'm straightening my hair. That Aussie moist does it all for me.

& idk wth is wrong with whoever said VO5 is the shiznat. Junk had my hair EXTRA dry. #NoSlipAtAll... NO.SAA

Sitrinillah does not do anything for me. Will not repurchase (dodges rocks), co washing hair in braids and not detangling means losing a grapefruit sized ball of hair. LadyP method, worked great for Lady P. Bless her heart. I lost a lock of hair from the root. Discontinued participation in the Lady P challenge. Circle method,No.

Interesting thread. I've ben a member since this board was created but I take every review with a grain of salt and don't expect everything to work for me.

All of the products in my rotation have come from recommendations that I've found here. I have other products in the graveyard that didn't work out at all like the Kinky Curly line, Shea Moisture Leave In, etc.

Welp, I just got my life..... :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

:lachen::lachen::lachen:!

I am HOLLERIN' over here because I can imagine the grimacing looks and tears if this was to ever happen!

People would straight LOSE THEIR MINDS!

(I know I would...)

LHCF was wrong when they said......you only need your fingers to detangle your hair. I tried that for a month and was left with a tangeled mess..

Cosigning! I had like, 3 locks in my hair by the end of the second week.

U don't need to protective style to retain length...

I brought into that lie and paid dearly, along with

-Not needing to trim to keep your ends healthy.
-Cowashing ONLY.
-Not using shampoo. This was the worst for me because come to find out, my scalp LOVES to be shampooed and cleaned. Without washing my scalp often my hair sheds by the handful.

I must be the only person that likes Shea Moisture. Please PM me and I will send you my address so you can send me your products LOL

ETA: The BKT threads were plentiful about a year ago. I am sorry for all of the ladies that experienced set backs doing this. I was warned not to BKT and once in a while I'm tempted, then read about the set backs and I say nuh uh let me just deal with the shrinkage.

Yes, to cowashing only and either ditching shampoo or low shampooing. Ugh! My scalp does enjoy a shampooing and I'm changing it to weekly as opposed to lesser time.

Well I've been a member for a long time and I have no hard feelings...plus my hair is long enough for me and I know how to keep it that way because of LHCF.

So here goes...

They said MTG would make my hair grow like 1 inch a month, but instead it gave me vivid dreams and headaches. I was darn near hallucinating before I realized that it was the new product that I just had to try. Had me up in a horse nursery searching for that sucka and almost in the crazy bin. (It wasn't really THAT bad, but it was pretty bad).

Someone said MSM was the truth! Lies! Bless the prophet - all lies! I ended up on an 10 day period when my time of the month was normally 3 days and my hair certainly didn't grow in silkier or faster...in fact I darn near had anemia that month because of that durn 2 week long period!

Someone said Hello Hydration gave incredible slip. I spent my little $2 and almost ended up cutting off my hair. I mean what type of conditioner causes the hair to feel hard while it's still wet and then when I reported back that I didn't like it and had tangles and what not...I think I was told that I applied it wrong.

Someone said that overtrimming was the cause of less length retention. So I tried to stop trimming as often and my ends split up the shaft until I had to cut like 5 inches. Major setback!

Someone said Bigen would get rid of my pesky grays and it did...but it also turned my bangs into what looked like dreds/French fries/highly textured - uncombable - breaking madness. My bangs were about two inches short for SIX months. (I kid, I kid, but they were short after that breakage).

Oh and wait, wait what was the name of that stuff we used to spray on our scalp - oh yeah SURGE! Did anyone else buy surge and experience burning and whatnot on their scalp? I can't be the only one.

But I triumphed over the bandwagon hopping and my hair loves me for it. I can't list the pages of GOOD advice that I received - that's how much LHCF has helped me (a whole lot)!

Oddly enough Shea Moisture Smoothie works great for my twist outs and it's a staple product. I rotate products like clockwork, so I don't know if others are using it by itself or too much.

lana Yes, Surge tore my scalp and neck up! I had to use aloe vera gel on my scalp and neck. I threw that mess in the trash.

MMhmmm LHFC lied to me too. I see some things going on now that I think gonna be in this list.

Future lie? I think inversion is a lie. If I had to hang upside down and do a rain dance for my hair to grow I would be bald.

Joico and Kenra was made from the tears of baby unicorns. I HATE both these products. I invested a lot of money to buy full sets that only dried my hair out.

Egg is a good protein. My hair was a dry tangled matted mess. End result one huge dredlock and a thousand tears.

DreamHair BKT. Oh my hair was so shiny and straight. It swang and blew in the wind. It was silk soft. When it wore off I saw the damage. Splits mid shaft and down. White bubbles from heat damage. Dryness.

- No trimming is the way to go. For a while, I only trimmed like once a year. Some time over those years of my lack of trims, my nape hair disappeared into the ether, causing my crown to be BSL but the back was barely APL and it just looked super uneven. I am now trimming at least 2x per year, along with dusting in between touch ups.
