Ugh, I am so sick of looking at all my products in the rubbermaid bin(s), and the rolling cart, and the bathroom cabinet, AND those sitting on the tub. :perplexed

I am so ready to get rid of the stuff I have, and even though a lot of the stuff is GOOD and did my hair right when I used it, I think a/b how long it'll take me to use it all up, and I just want to pass out :nono:. I want to put it all on the exchange board, but I don't want anyone else to have it either :look:...But I know I don't want to buy ANYTHING else :yep:. I found what works for me (finally!) and that's that.

So...anyone ever feel like I do right now??

I made a list of all the things I bought the other day. All I could see was my $$$ on that list so I'm only sticking to staple purchases for 2008. I'm running out of space too.

Yeah, we're NOT EVEN gonna talk a/b the money I've dropped this yr. Won't begin to do the calculations. I'd go catatonic, for real. I mean, it was fun while it lasted, but that's how retail therapy goes. Buying the products was a high, and then I crashed, and hard. My hair's better for all the work I put into it, but seriously, this turned into a MAJOR problem. 2008 will be better, definitely :yep: There's only up from here...

:yep::yep::yep:I packed up a whole bag full of stuff and gave to my bff along with all of my shampoos. But the prob now is I still have tons of stuff that I talked myself into keeping, just to send her an email saying I have more stuff. I feel like you, when I think about all the money I spent, I really don't want to give it a way. But I think others would get more use out of it then it sitting under my bathroom sink. The one thing that I have no need for anymore, but I don't want to give it away is my avocado mist. It's a full bottle and the bottle is HUGE!!!

Nope, just the opposite. I LOVE listing items on the exchange board. It's a good way to get rid of the products that you know you won't use or don't like, plus it helps some members find their staples and try products that may not be available in their area. And, you can make a little $$$ to stock up on your own staples. It's pretty helpful. :yep:

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Atleast you have them nicely in certain areas, i have them in bags all and all over my room. I got i dunno how many bags full, plus some are on my dresser, on the bed, on and in my nightstands, on and in the armoire, and on the floor. Probably under my bed, too.:yep: I definitely doen't need to buy anything else! I see all these threads on what will you get your hair for xmas, not a darn thing! What makes it worse is that 95% of them i haven't even tried yet. Maybe next LHCF meeting i will try to take some. I got i bad, i tell you!

I've put a few things on the exchange board before, and they did go pretty darn fast! LOL! But, I mean, what crackhead do you know is willing to sell their stash when they first walk into rehab?? :lachen:Just being real :look:

Some items do sell incredibly fast!!! I've seen items sold less than three minutes after being posted!!! And it's usually always a product that I wanted to purchase, myself.  Quick fingers on this board!!!

I just took inventory last night and decided to downsize. It's not like you spent 100's of dollars over the past several years on products but more like the past couple months! I made some fake @ss oil concoctions-GARbage-that I threw away, I don't even know how to use that stuff. I bought some MTG-I'm not gonna use that stuff-it STINKS and a 5lb tub of conditioner that doesn't even have the ingredients on the tub. WHY? It's ridiculous.

I'm about to load up on Elasta QP products and call it a day. Tired of it.

Yes, Yes, Yes. All of the products are taking up way too much space. I am thinking of taking all of the so-so conditioners and putting them in a big container as a prepoo or something,(this will make the second one:wallbash:) but something's gotta give. I said bye bye to PJism a couple months ago, but the trappings of it are lingering!!!

I often find myself sitting there staring at all of the products I have, and then I tell myself I'm going to start giving a lot of it away. But then I force myself to suck it up and use it. I paid all that money for it, so I'm going to put it to use. That will teach me to stop jumping on so many bandwagons and buying up every product I see. I have to admit that I've calmed down quite a bit though. I'm nowhere as bad as I used to be. But I applaud you for trying to curb that PJ'ism. It's a tough thing to do, isn't it?!

Very good point! I'll tell myself this tonight when I am going through my stuff again...Gosh, this is soooo hard! :ohwell:

Giirrrl!! We are so >><<. I was thinking the same thing yesterday and am on a personal challenge to rid myself of everything. BUT!! I plan to use my products  Shoooot! I have really good products and have spent too much money on those products. The products would dissapear faster if I did my hair once a week :spinning: Sometimes, I 'm just having a very lazy week and do nothing but moisturize

Yeah, I feel what you're saying, definitely. Actually, that's how I figured out a while back that washing 2x/week was good for my hair; I had so many shampoos and conditioners, I felt like I had no choice. Now that I'm trying to get rid of stuff, I'm trying to re-train my hair to 1x/wk. We'll see how that goes ...I use to moisturize so much (to use stuff up), I had to wash 2-3x/wk. But my fine hair doesn't need all that. Less is More w/my hair, hence this thread ;)

Yeah, the "Use it Up" Challenge just wasn't doing it for me. In fact, I bought MORE stuff after I joined. That's what I get for reading everyone else's inventory list :wallbash:

I guess for me, cold turkey is better

I think after a year on the board, I"ve finally found some staples in most areas of my regimen. I have my shampoos, cons, DCs, and most styling products. I'm guilty as well, I love to buy hair products. Aveda sent me an Open House coupon and I'm going in there to buy something just b/c! I mean I definitely don't need anything, but what's a girl to do? I even gave away a whole set of Keracare products to my friend...and of course I bought a new set of Redken All Soft to replace it!! hahah

I was feeling that way last month. Gave all my products to my sister and now I only have my staples. I've finally cured my pj'ism.

I know how you feel :yep:!! I have so much stuff in my room, it makes me sick. So I stopped buying products in September after my New York trip. I have loads of conditioners and shampoos at home which I am using up one by one. A lot of my conditioners are completely useless, really, but I will use them up anyway, adding my own oils to them for deep conditioning. Hopefully I'll be through in a couple of months, and then I will only spend money on hair products I will really use.

Sometimes when I go home for the weekend... I "accidentally" leave my hair stuff at home, so that when I realize I need a wash I go straight to Walgreens or somewhere else to buy products.

Other times, I organize and reorganize my products by color, brand, purpose, ingredients, and how good they work on my hair. Then I get so excited about how much stuff I have that I HAVE TO wash my hair immediately thereafter.

And even worse, there are times when I a shopping, I realize I am only spending 3 dollars or less, and I'm like... well paying a visit to the Hair isle couldn't hurt. Then I'm walking out the door with two bags after spending $20.00. This usually happens every other week, or once a week, and sometimes if it's really bad... twice a week. I don't know what I would do without scholarship oney and grants and my work study, because if my mom knew how I was living... spending more on hair than groceries... I would get a beating!

Im glad there is a thread where we can actually look at ourselves and see how messed up we really are... after reading my post over, I have decided to PROMISE myself to stop being a PJ. I can't start by giving away my products though, because that would give me incentive to go shopping again. :look: Baby steps,... I'll hide my Sally's card first, and then create a Wal-Mart budget that excludes the health and beauty isle too.

The bulk of my issue is the amount of daily moisturizers I own...and the fact that I only need a little bit like every other day :wallbash:

I remember when I needed a whole bunch. Now I get most of my moisture from my DCs and leave-ins.

Isn't it embarrasing? I am writing a note on my mini fridge and my calendar in my dormroom saying:

DON'T DO IT! LOOK UNDER THE SINK, LOOK IN THE TUB ON THE COUNTER! LOOK IN THE MEDICINE CABINET! LOOK IN THE CLOSET, LOOK IN YOUR PURSE, SEE? YOU COULD STYLE A SMALL COUNTRY WITH THIS!

I never wore make up (without getting beat into it at the same time I was getting beat into a dress) until recently... Now I actually getting enthusiastic and buying the stuff... I have no idea what I would do if I was as much of a PJ with make up as I am with hair stuff... I would have to be taken out back and put down...

I so know how you feel. I told my husband that my goal in 2008 is to not buy any hair products. He told me, that's like telling God you're not going to sin. I am really going to try to do it. I own enough shampoos, conditioners, and moisturizers to last me two years. I told myself I am going to take the money and invest it in a mutual fund. I know that would be better for me financially.

I know this is about doing away with pjs but...do you have a pic of the avocado mist? I never seen one before. Thanks. Where can I purchase it?
