Hi Ladies!!!!

Its that time to check-in and see how things are going!!! I know that some of you have been updating in the main thread....but I wanted to give you all a chance to share here. So get your 60-day update on!!

Also, I want to use this thread as an opportunity for people to post problems that they have been having and fellow bootcampers can offer support and advice.

I have been doing well.... Im falling in love with my two-strand twists again. So Im going strong with protective styling and DCing.

I am planning to get a sew-in so that I can rock a protective straight style.
I will be using a pass to straighten the parts that Im going to leave out...so its only like a 1/5 pass

Looking forward to reaching BSL....BOOTCAMPING FOR BRASTRAP BABY!!!!!

You have some beautiful hair lady! Anyhoo, I am in braids, on growth aids and vitamin overload...but I must say that tomorrow is two weeks in braids and I have 1/4 inch of new growth, Dont think these braids will last two months.

I was perusing the C&G method and saw that alot of women wait weeks before getting their braids done after a relaxer, I think I may wait it out until 6/30 for a touch up....5 month stretch?!?!

Any tips are appreciated.....

Checking in. I have made good progress. I have been faithful to protective sytling and flat ironed to check my growth.

HHG

I went and bought Ovation's Cell Therapy for a little push. I'm wondering if I need a trim, but I'm gonna hold out and just baby my ends. It could actually be my horrible flat-iron job

Posted in the main thread...sorry :ohwell: > >

Ok. My 1st Qtr results are in...

Let me know if you guys notice growth? Also, in the first t-shirt photo I was 4 weeks post so my hair was a little fuller.

12/28/07 - 03/01/08 12/05/07 03/01/08

Observation:
Stretching is a good thing, if only to see where the new growth begins and ends. HOWEVER, I stretched for 14 weeks and the last 3 were not fun :nono:

What I learned:
I should stick with 12 week stretches, at least Spring/Summer. Though I don't really have thick hair, that 2" of growth in the front through my crown was too much to deal with using lo/no mani. It was dry no matter how much scurl/moisturizer I used. I experienced no breakage at the demarcation line, which was a good thing, but it was way more than I bargained.

The last 3 weeks, as odd as this will sound, I felt like I had someone else's head on my shoulders. Since I was not really touching my scalp, when I did my touch up, I felt like I was going to make a mistake like I have never relaxed before.

Another comment that's been made before around your ng not getting really straight after a good stretch is true. I believe this is because you're relaxing using the same amount of time and not calculating the additional time that will be needed to just part and move the bushes from side to side. Lesson learned.

Going forward:
Summer/Spring 12 weeks stretches only, and I will need to find some super gentle way to do something different with my ng. I just find it too difficult to relax when I can't even part my hair.

:ohwell:Any suggestions on this one?

I am doing well. Washing and deep conditioning weekly with no heat and very little manipulation.

I can't wait to post results woot woot! I'ma post results for the RollerSet Challenge first then bootcamp since it's like 2 weeks after the other reveal.

Like the song says...I have some good dayz...I have some bad days...and some hills to climb loool! My biggest problem are protective styles. I mean I wear rollersets everyday, but I hate protective styles such as bunning, but I know I need to embrace them *sigh* if I ever wanna get to APL. I'm getting there but it's coming sooooo slowly!! I think (hope) I'm retaining my length and everything I learned is going well.

Today my hair looks sooo dull...i dunno why...maybe it needs moisture? Oil Rinse? I dunno :sad:

I really dunno how long my hair is except for when I wet it because I don't flat iron and my newgrowth is puffy so my hair won't lay down looool But it looked pretty good when I pulled on it and took a pic....I need to do that saran wrap more often...

Moving Forward: I need to start cowashing again...(I stopped last week) because it's only week 4 but my new growth is trying to control me...and it's winning *sigh* lol It's dry curly and unruly :perplexed and I can't keep my fingers out of it :wallbash:

Still going strong. Just trying to keep these ends under control. I may have to do a light dusting at the end of the challenge.

My update is in my fotki. So far so good, although I think I'm going to need to dust my ends after this is over.

Everything is cool. Low manipulation and no heat. I was shedding more than usual a couple of weeks ago but its back to normal (over moisturizing was the culprit bc my hair felt mushy). I recently brought a denman brush for detangling and I have to say, I am not shedding like I normally do bc the denman brush picks up what that comb does not. I am now using vegetable glycerin and water mix daily and its great.

When I hit waist I stop
Still two stranding it with the occasional puff...same ol same ol. I was thinking about getting braids put in but I don't know

Still going strong. Low munipulation I've been keeping hair in ponytail under faux bun. Daily moisture and sealing with Castor Oil. Deep conditioning after every wash, air drying with a silk scarf and just plain leaving it alone. The only problem is using growth aides, I'm not down munipulating my hair everyday so I've been limiting my use of MN to two to three times a week. :perplexed

Whisper "bleep boop" to yourself when you're sad.
Things are good here. Still deep conditioning 3 x's a week and bunning daily. Easy peasy lemon squeezy

I'm gonna have to get a trim though, because my ends keep getting caught and tangling. I was really trying to hold off on getting a trim until I reached APL :( I haven't had a trim or been in a salon in about 5 years, so I'm really nervous :ohwell:

I'm doing okay so far, though, detangling the back of my head is starting to become a b___ , since I'm transitioning. Other than that. So far so good!

I've been havin a ball co-washing and staying away from direct heat. The result so far has been less breakage and thicker, healthier hair.:yep:

I'm doing well over here. I've been two-stranding and dcing as always. I just Senegalese twisted my hair and will be leaving them in for about 2-3 months. Keeping it simple is really working for me:grin:

I relaxed last weekend and couldn't believe the results, so I started a thread with my update and now its in my siggy. I must admit, I haven't followed all the rules all the time. But I do follow some of them most of the time :look:...I just do everything in moderation now. I DC at least once a week on dry hair, flat iron at the most once a week if not once every two weeks. I use protective styles all the time. And lo/no mani is my best friend..

I'm doing well. I'm still doing the C&G wig challenges combo (cornrows under wig) and that's going great. I won't be posting pics until December (my personal 1 year HYH challenge).

I'm also doing ok so far. I cowash at least 3x a week. Don't use heat. But, my hair is still shedding and breaking and I hate it. Like one day it won't break much, but the next day it will break alot....

Fantastic! Can't wait for pics ladies! I have been faithfully wearing my twist bun and rocked a couple sets of twists/twistouts so far. I still haven't used any heat, am dc'ing faithfully, and have rocked nothing but low manipulation styles. I had to wear my hair a different way, I just couldn't do the bun everyday like I initially set out to do. But hey, low manipulative styles are second best! My update is in my fotki. I would post it here but gotta run out to the store! Peace Ladies!
