Who wants to try KeraPro (Kerastase clone @ Sally's)?

In my continuing hunt for the right shampoo, I've been taking notes while I use up my stash. I've seen quite a few posters and reviews saying drugstore L'Oreal brands (Fructis, EverPure) are just as good as Kerastase and perhaps the same formula, just marketed at different price points. So I already had those on my list to try.

Then I went to Sally's website to order some non-snagging clips, a hair net and the next size magnetic rollers for the rollersetting challenge and saw these products featured.

Any PJs interested in trying these out? This month, Sally's is giving a free full size of the KeraPro serum with any KeraPro purchase (shampoo, conditioner or DC).

I would be very interested to see the results of these products as Kerastase is a hard act to follow - they have an excellent line of products.

Me too. My former stylist told me to try to get some Kerastase when I got my hair done at Mizani in NYC. They offered free blow outs, relaxers and color, plus one full-sized sample per visit. I had to stop going because they not only used no-lye when I told them I used lye, they'd wander off. The first time I went, the stylist didn't mix enough relaxer (which is how I found out it was no-lye), then went downstairs to find more while I burned. And she overlapped my ends. There went a year of fast, healthy growth.

Back then, I still thought burning and relaxer mistakes were the rule and not the exception. So I went back for color. I asked for a warm, coppery brown, since I was trying to transition from auburn. The stylist (who I wrongly assumed would know better because she was black), also wandered off and I ended up with jet black hair. While my natural color is basically black with some other colors and gray mixed in, black dye comes out too intense and makes me look sallow and just off.

They also didn't always have products available, or only had ones I received on earlier visits. They didn't fall for me saying I'd settle for Kerastase instead. Still have a bunch of half-used Mizani.

I absolutely love the Kerapro line! I use the shampoo and treatment fro dry to very dry hair. LOVE IT! So moisturizing w/ tons of slip. I have since stopped using Silicon Mix and went back to sulfates because of this line.

We got this line in months ago, and my first impression of it was that it looked and smelled cheap. But I got they set to preview for free and OMG...I've been bringing home jars of this stuff just about everyday, because I'm afraid they will discontinue it since it hasn't been selling well.

The only problem I have with this line is that I think it is expensive. The treatment (dry to very dry) is 5oz. for 11.99 that is too much in my opinion. I use a whole jar for ONE application! If I had to pay full price for it I would just stick ti silicon mix or SE Mega Silk.

Sort of OT...Next month One and Only is coming out with an Argan oil moisturizing deep treatment, along with a curling cream, and an 8oz size of the Argan Oil treatment. I'm going to have to try that and see if Kerapro is still my staple.

I am in love with this line. As an emplyoee we get to try just about every new product for free, and I still have mini trail sizes of the treatment, shampoo nd elixir. They all are amazing but I really like the Dry to Very Dry Shampoo. It' is worth it in my opinion, but then again I did receive the product for free. I'd buy it...if I didn't take a billion samples....

@Coffee I would like to see some photos of your product stash. I know it would be PJ heaven.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head :lachen:. I gave away lots of products to my nieces and Soujourner's, but I still have lots of products that I haven't even tried yet :yep:.

Do you sometimes do like me and forget what you had until you just happen to run across that product looking for another product.. lol

I had oils that went rancid on me because I would use them and not finish them up and when I did go back to them I couldn't use them anymore..

Still OT, but...

I just saw this yesterday and picked some up! The 8oz Oil Treatment is discounted for Beauty Members at 17.99 -- can't wait for a bonafide sale!

And I picked up the Curling Cream which is also a leave-in!. I did notice on the ingredients list that it does have mineral oil in it... which I know is a no-no...but I tried it last night after a CW... and my hair is soooo soft and I looooooove the smell... :lick::lick::lick:

I will be chucking the deuces to Mixed Silk leave-in because of it.... :look::look::look:

When you say 8oz Argan Oil Treatment, is that the Hydrating Mask? If so, it's listed online for $9.49/8.49.

I am in love with the Restorative Conditioner.. But it comes in a tiny jar for 10 bucks :( Its annoying because I love this conditioner so much, I want it to come in a big container. I got the elixir, which is pretty good itself.

But I Love their conditioner, I cant say it enough *tears*

This stuff looks awesome for relaxed hair. It seems to have the protein/moisture needed all in one. I saw that nunaat stuff too. Looks good.

The conditioner is amazing, but they really do need to come down on that price. 5oz for 11.99 is not economical at all. :nono:

I have about 8 bottles of elixir that I haven't tried cause I don't use cones as a leave in.

They really do.. I kinda hate that I love it so much. I was thinking that I can make my own , lol. It seems all of the conditioners I find that could replace my MMP, come in those tiny jars.. I am gonna buy a couple of jars and then use it only on special occasions. I could not believe how the comb just glided through my hair, lol

I called Sally's this morning and they are going to send me another order to replace the one that UPS damaged. No questions asked, awesome customer service. Hopefully I'll have it by the weekend, so I can try it.

I'm sure that since KeraPro is a knock off of Kerastase the price has to be expensive :lachen:.

OMG, I tried the restorative treatment last night and I cannot rave about it enough!!!! I said that I am going to buy every single one of those in my area. My hair usually loves Silicon Mix and this was even better than that. $11.99 for 5 oz. is not cheap, but I have paid more for deep conditioners online. I really hope they do not stop selling this line. In one treatment, my natural curls were shiny and plump (and I have rather fine, lifeless hair). I swear that I may buy five on my next paycheck.

I passed this by at the store but you guys are making me want to go back and get it right now. I hope the Restorative Intense Treatment is similar to Kérastase Masquintense
