Hey Ladies, (this is for everyone, natural or relaxed, new to the hair journey or the ladies that have been at it a while, and everyone in between)

What has helped you the most so far in your hair journey? I would like to know, what are your favorite/can't live without products, ingredients, protective styles, and/or techniques of handling your hair, etc.

By ingredients, I mean, do you buy products based on a certain ingredient? Are you a mixologist and like to use glycerin, rose water, aloe vera juice, essential oils, etc.?

By techniques, I mean, do you comb your hair only when wet, do you comb your hair at all, number of times you wash hair, etc?

I will start:
My can't live without list: :yay:
1. Products: Aubrey Organics conditioner - HSR, WC, GPB
2. Ingredients: castor oil, essential oils, any of the thinner oils to mixed with my castor oil. Aloe vera juice mixed with water makes my hair so shiny.
3. Wide tooth comb
4. Must comb hair at least damp, lest I end up tearing out all my hair
5. Love my cornrows - two enthusiastic thumbs up
6. Must moisturize hair at least once a day
7. Must use satin scarf and pillow case

Does anyone have anything to share?

I have seen a couple of threads on things we hate to do or use on our hair, so I figured we could share the things that we love to use or do that have been the most beneficial. and that we can't live without. :yep:

May I ask how you use your HTW to steam?

Burbujas, I use it in place of the hair dryer doing the cheap method learned on lchf. I can't stand to sit still. I use a Turbie Twist or small towel wet it and microwave as hot as I can take it. I put on my rubber gloves, ring the towel out place on my hair and cover with plastic shower cap. Place my microwaved HTW over that. Wrap plastic bag over top to keep all the heat in. Sounds crazy and involved but very easy. I keep on my head till I feel that heat is gone, ususally approx. 40 - 45 min cause moving around the house creates heat too.

I've been natural off and on for the past 10 years. I would always run back to relaxers when my natural hair became too dry and crispy to handle. I've tried every organic/ natural product under the sun with no success. I'm currently natural and sticking to it after finding a hair routine the makes my hair deliciously moisturized.
1) Aphogee deep moisture shampoo
2)Aphogee Keratin 2 minute reconstructor
3) Miracle 8 oil (hot oil treatment)
4) Care free curl spray moisturizer
5) Care free curl activator
6) Silk elements glossing polish ( to seal in moisture)
7) Extra wide tooth comb
items 4,5, and 6 have to be used sparingly to prevent that "greasy/slick" feeling.
I know that list has a multitude of "hair sins", but they are the only things that keep my hair from being crispy.

I started a personal challenge this year of consistent pincurling on flatironed hair. I love it! Best no-heat styling method for my straightened hair. :yep:
