Good luck with this.
All I can suggest is that you'll probably fare better if you ensure you're using a shampoo that is not stripping or harsh. The less you strip you hair down, the less conditioning (or repairing treatments) should be needed. In other words treat your hair like fine washables
Good luck.... I've never owned products up until now.... Just a shampoo and conditioner, I didn't even use gel. My hair grew to Hip Length using no products. Just shampooing once a month. I used conditioner once a week or two weeks and my hair was always up in a curly flip up..... My friend decided she wanted to straighten it one day, and it was at my hips... Actually a bit past my hips... I didn't care for my hair back then though and it was damaged at the ends so I chopped it off..... Probably didn't need to chop it off, but, I wasn't all into my hair back then lol.
Wow See you're just another example that it doesn't take much to care for our hair .. But at the same time we have to be gentle to it ... I'm very interested to see how my hair grows , feel and looks once I'm done with this
My goal is to use nothing but the mention items to wash but if I notice anything negative going on with my hair of course I will deal with it as needed Stay tunedI've gotten down to only using a shampoo bar and coconut oil but I'm not sure I would risk leaving my hair completely bare with nothing in it at all. I use the coconut oil as a leave in after I rinse the shampoo bar from my hair. I'll be following this thread closely to see her results.
Yeah I normally don't use or do to much to my hair anyway so this shouldn't be such a shock to my hair ... I'll post results when I finally remove crochetsIt really doesn't take much, but, my hair was dry back then and had color damage at the ends. I chopped it neck length and decided I wanted long and healthy because I also learned that you can have long unhealthy hair. And thats when my whole "wanting long healthy hair" craze started lol. Now its soooo healthy, I'm just waiting for the length to come back lol!! I'll be following this thread, I'd love to see results.
I'm going to see if I can find those old threads thanksWe had a "naked hair" challenge here many years ago... I was surprised that my hair didn't look as crazy as I had believed it would
My hair looks just how I want it to when it's clean, damp and product free. Soft, shiny, heat damaged waves and curls But once it dries it becomes a cloud of tragic, formless, nothingnesss
But I love the soft effect i get from naked hair. Gel which I need to clump my hair just ruins that whole effect. Sadly i can't capture my naked damp hair without using a product which of course ruins the soft nakedness lol.
Nothing happens really. While I was pregnant. I washed my hair every 3 weeks and a few times I even deep conditioned. After washing I would put castor oil in my hair and braid it up.
I wanted to try to be as natural as possible during that time.
I know what happens when I don't use any product, my hair shrinks up and feels hard which could lead to breakage if you handle the hair.
I wear yarn braids and wash and condition my hair 3-4 times a week. That's it.
When I take my braids down my hair is nice and shiny. I use dr bronners and Aussie moist.
Not at all. I wear it in a shoulder length bob
The yarn braids don't feel heavy to you?
