How often do you relax?

Uh oh.....:look:

I'm not relaxed, but when i was, I found that stretching 2 months (sometimes 3) was good enough for me. I would wear lots of rollersets and buns in the mean time if my newgrowth got too thick.

I'm not relaxed, but when I was, I would stretch for 2-3 months(longer if in braids and following the crown & glory method). I stretched with cornrows, rollersets, and braids.

I stretch for 14 weeks. I wear cornrows under a half wig daily. I redo cornrows every 7 weeks. Works for me.

I relax with JFM Texture Softener every 4-6 months, so around 2-3 times a year. I wear my hair the same way I did when I was natural.

I try to make it to 12 weeks but it gets rough sometimes so I do it at 10 weeks if I am having alot of breakage and shedding. I bun my hair 99% of time whether I am 2 weeks post or 10...

Every 2-3 months. I stretch by doing simple protective styles, tying my hair down at night so that it goes flat by morning. I've been using a homemade spritz as well.

I relax every 4 months. I usually wear buns mainly. Every now and then i'll do a rollerset or braidout.

2-3 months was my ultimate limit. Anything afterwards caused me to lose hair... I might get back on it though, now that I have figured out what helps.

And if you stretch, how do you style your hair in the meantime?

I relax twice per year...

the longest stretch *eh-hem* transition attempt - was more than 18 months.

I am a bunner. Always have been and probably always will be :yep:

I've never had a problem blending my NG with my relaxed hair, though.

are you considering relaxing again...:naughty:

I relax 3-4 months but right now im trying to make it to 6months.
I am currently 3.5 months.
I style my hair however I want to. If i have a ton of new growth try not to disturb it much.

rollersets, doobies, silk wraps, air dry then use steam rollers .. if i have alot of new growth I may flat iron the new growth or just moisturize edges and tie it down with a scarf to flaten edges.
braidouts
twistouts
wet bun only in warmer months

I may invest in some curl formers they seem to realy get the newgrowth smooth.

I'm a texlaxed 4ab, (Mizani no-lye sensitive scalp) right now I stretch every 2-3 months. That's four relaxers a year. Sometimes I make it to 4 months once per year, but I'm 4ab, so I'm not kidding anyone here. I try to hang on as long as possible :look:. My new growth eventually wrestles back control. I don't mind -- cause it's thick, healthy and pretty. :drunk:

I prefer being texlaxed over natural or relaxed. I've been all three at one time or another for YEARS at a time.

I relax 3 times a year. I'd like to only do it twice but I don't see that happening.

I often bun because in my world, not many people are gonna see it anyway. I may wear a ponytail a few days a week after a fresh wash. Wear it down 1-2 times a month. Once as a braidout or from bandu knots, the other time I ususally I flatiron.

11 weeks. but i'm going to bump that up, and relax every 9 weeks from now on. i noticed when i relaxed last night that i have a small amount of breakage on my crown at the demarcation line. my crown's the most resistant part to process, so i can't let it get too unruly.

 LOL @ bolded.

I relax every 10-12 weeks. I either wash my hair airdry in a scarf and do braidouts or rollerset and flat iron my roots.

Anywhere from 2 to 5 months. I don't really feel any benefit from stretching longer than 8 weeks, it only causes issues. Only reason why I take so long is because I live so far away from my stylist.

I was expecting to see a poll. But it's ok. I'll explain anyway.

I relax every 6 weeks. I will try to stretch to 8 weeks in the winter if my plan to braid does not happen.

I've been stretching every 12 weeks, but couldn't wait last month and relaxed at 9 weeks :wallbash:. I know I could probably go longer now (up to 15 weeks)

Lately I've been stretching to every 4 to 5 months, while wearing protective styles..I think I might move that up to every 3 months... my hair really becomes unmanagable especially on wash days when I wait too long...

Same exact thing here. I'm trying to stretch to 12 if I don't lose alot of hair.

I relax every 8-10 weeks. During the latter weeks post relaxer, I wear spiral sets (like in my siggy) and twistouts to hide my new growth.

I used to wait every 10 min. but now I do it every 6-7 weeks. I have alot of new growth by the 3rd week. So by 6 weeks I'm ready for another application.

8, 10 or 12 weeks... depending on how much growth.
I usually do a conditioner only wash and put my hair up in a bun, or if I'm feeling frisky a phony pony or 1/2 wig...
Are you thinking about relaxing your hair?
