2016 Updates: Relaxed/texlaxed List Your "moisturize & Seal" Products

HappyAtLast

Simplicity & Peacefulness
Do you still M&S or just Moisturize? If so, what's working for you?

I have a few things I'm bouncing between that are alright but nothing I'm in love with. I'm using:

Moisturizer
  • S-curl, Care Free Curl, or BRX Braid Spray if I don't mind frizz/poofy.
  • ORS HaiRepair, Aphogee Curlific Moisture Rich Leave-in, Neutrogena Triple Moisture
Seal
  • Blue Magic/Vaseline, Macadamia Oil (love all of these but haven't found a moisturizer to pair them with. Still experimenting.)

I don't M&S as often as I used to. Once a days is good enough now. Product I use are:

L = Annabelle's Leave in or Annabelle's Refresher or Naturelle Grows Lilly Rose & Ginger (moisture)
O = Annabelle's Infused Oils or Marie Deans Argan (seal)
C = Annabelle's Cream or Hair Butter (seal again)

InBloom

In my new-growth
My relaxed hair is fine, with medium density. I cannot m/s the traditional way because I'll have stiff, weighed down hair.

I will spritz my hair during the day with plain water. At night before wrapping it up, I will spritz with aloe vera juice. There are times when I will seal, so I use a very light product...

Yup I still M&S. I almost always seal w oil after moisturizing. I do it 6-7 days per week, once per day.

For moisture:
Water rinsing or cowashing
Spray bottle with 90% water + 1-2 squirts of condish + oil on off days

For sealing:
Hair oil ceramide mix (EVOO+Grapeseed+Safflower+orange oil for scent)
Bhringaraj/Amla oil
Vatica oil (coconut based)

I had no idea EQP made a leave-in spray and cream. I'm only familiar with the butter from back in the day! I'll have to find it.

I have too many to count but I generally like to use a medium to fairly thick Moisturizer sealed in with either a hair butter or oil. I use:

APB refresher spray with Bask & Bloom Nourishing Amazon Butter to seal
Bekura Tonga Mousse with any oil to seal, but mostly evoo because it's a little thick
NG leave-ins - the sweet Plantain and Hibiscus & Honey leave-ins so far are my favorites followed by an oil sealant or heavy butter.

There are many more but this is just a few to start with.
