Happy christmas ladies.

Well, I totally messed up this year. I was in two challenges (APL 06, and Hide Your Hair till Christmas) and didn't keep it up (I think I was in a vitamins for hair growth challenge too....:perplexed :ohwell: ).

But I've seen the progress that ladies on these challenges have made and I am DETERMINED to get my hair to APL length by June 07.

So who's in?

You can choose whatever you feel will help you along. I will take vits (going to order some Viviscal), baggy my ends, use protective styles, use surge and castor oil on my roots, and get a photo account so that I can post pics. Start date is 01 Jan. Who's with me? :D

Oh yes - forgot to add, very very little heat (none if possible).

So here's my list of things i'll do to achieve the goal

~Vitamins (Viviscal, L-Cysteine, Biotin)
~Very little heat
~ Surge, castor oil, essential oils on roots
~Water mixed with glycerine, S-curl for moisture when hair is in protective styles
~Protective styles, baggy
~Protein shakes daily, fish at least twice a week, plenty of other proteins during the week (eggs, chicken, nuts)
~Drink at least 1.5 litres of water every day
~Photo account to post updates and results. :D

I'm in.

I will con wash once a week.
Shampoo the last week of the month.
Use only organic products: Carol's Daughter, Aubrey Organics & Dr. Woods.
Roller set.
Sleep with hair in updo.
Moisturize 3-4x's a week and massage scalp.
Drink more water and take vitamins regularly.

I'm in.

Starting in January, I will be alternating between MN and Lenzi's Request. I will use henna when my hair is in need of protein, bun my hair every day and continue to airdry.

I'll be trying out different moisturizers (since I'm in search of a really good/ thick water-based one) but continue to use coconut oil to seal my ends.

**I should mention that I've just started to drink more water, and would like to get up to 1L a day

I'd like to join in on this challenge. I'm a newbie so I haven't established a specific regimine that will work for me. But as i see things that other members post I will be trying them to see if they work for me.

- rollerset or air dry
- keep hair moisturized
- wrap hair up b4 sleeping or laying down
- no heated utensils like curling irons or flat irons
- deep condition with every wash
- only comb hair when i wash it (once a wk for the most part)
- use MN

So far these are the only things im doing and they have been working pretty well because I have had a significant amount of growth since i cut it back in August.

I'm in on this challenge, I hope to get to APL by june 07. Full APL
I will be using sulfur mixture
WGO
Vitamins(Nioxin)
Juicing Vegetables

I'm in. I'm actually being really ambitious about reaching APL by March, but that may be a tad unrealistic. I KNOW I can reach APL by June.

My plans are:
Scalp massages
Lenzi's Request
Exercise
Multi Vitamin
Alter Ego's Cren

I haven't decided if I'm going to braid, weave or leave out my hair yet. I just know trims and excessive heat will be a no-no until at least March.

Okay, I'm in too. I've never been good at challenges or resolutions, but I'll do my best. I'm goona try to keep it simple and not give myself too many things to keep up with. These are my thoughts:

~Take my vitamins (Multi, NAC, B-complex, CoQ10, MSM...I haven't consistent with these.)
~Wash and deep condition weekly
~Workout at least 2x per week
~Eat more protein
~Drink more water
~Take more photos to track my progress

Wish me luck, y'all.

I am in. These are what I will do to get there:

-Working out as part of my daily routine
-moisturize daily
-Taking multi-vits daily
-Up my water intake
-Handle my hair gently

I am down for this challenge as well!!!
Consistently taking vitamins (Nioxin & Viviscal)
Drinking 64 ounces of water daily
Alternating MTG/ bunning w/ Lenzi's Request/braids
Eating a lot better
Best of luck to each of you!

Yahhh I'm in and excited

My regimine:
- cornrows
- rollersetting
- little heat as possible
- hooded dryer only
-deep conditioning at least once a week
- wearing it down occasionally

I'm in. I don't usually join these length challenges but why not. I'm thinking I should be a bit past APL by then...about 1" above bra strap.
My regimen is simple:
Cornrows
Wash as often as possible
Moisturize daily or at least every other day
Get back on brewer's yeast
Work out daily like I have been doing and that's about it
Keeping it simple...

I wanna join! Here's what I wanna do (I'm so bad at this haircare thing):

*Vitamins consistantly
*Step up my water a lot
*Bun as much as I can
*moisturize and seal daily w/ castor oil
*deep condition w/ every wash
*try to get off this heat every 2 weeks

This is sooo hard for me since i'm used to wearing my hair flat ironed bone straight, but I really want to make APL so i'll try...

Count me in!

I'm a newbie and trying to get my act together :)
I need to develop and refine a routine, so for now, the big strategy includes:
  • Only air dry or roller set
  • Drink water, water, water ...
  • Photo journal my progress
  • Minimal manipulation (keep my hands off)
  • Satin scarf or bonnet at night
  • HEALTHY hair (healthy ends, thicker/stronger hair, moisture)

I'm in also.

I'm planning to keep bunning and doing the crown and glory method. I will moisturize more often. My goal is to retain not focus on faster growth.

Im SOOOO there::

Wash & Deep Condition 1x week
Condition wash 2x week W/ MNT & Humecto
Airdry-NO HEAT
Baggie under ½ wig
MTG & Surge back half of hair 3-5x weekly
vitamins daily : Shen Min/Biotin/Multi/B-Complex daily

Wow this challenge was made for me! I want to be at APL by my birthday on June 13. Currently I'm collarbone length when stretched, but I've been at a standstill for a long time from SHS and lack of effective protective styling. I plan on doing the following...

~Deep conditioning twice weekly, co washes in between when needed ( My hair likes this but I need to do it routinely)
~Dred extensions for at least 2 months
(When in dreds/ braids:
Surge w/ castor oil 2x daily and MTG occasionally( when in dreds)
Wash twice weekly)
~Biotin daily
~Wear tucked under ponytail more often
~Moisturize 2x daily

ETA: No trimming, dusting only.

I'm in

I'm on the pop ya bra strap challenge for 2007, hopefully I'll reach BSL by the end of 2007, and on the newbie challenge,

I would like to reach Armpit length in june or july'07

my plans:

*take my vitamins everyday
*no heat until June or July (my next touch up)
*I have to work out 3x per week
*drink lost of water (this would be the most difficult part for some reason)
*keeping the baggie method
*protective styles (I'll try the instant weaves, buns, phony pony as protective styles)
*moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!! Since I missed my goal for December 2006 by about 1.5 inches.

My plan will continue from what I've been doing:
  • Hiding my hair with weaves, weaves, and more weaves!!!
  • Weekly prepoos/shampoos/condition
  • Weekly light protein conditioners
  • Moisturizing my hair daily alternating b/w braid spray, Mizani H2O Intensive Night Time Treatment, NTM leave in, Carol's Daughter Hair Milk, WGO to seal
  • I need a slight trim/dusting, not sure when I'll do that
  • I may incorporate a weekly cowash in between washes
That's about it. I would like to get back on my vitamins since I've been totally uncommitted to that. We'll see:ohwell: .

Anyway I plan to be official APL by the very latest June!!!!!!!!

Go us!!!!!!!!!!
