A Naturals Dilemma: To Relax or Not to Relax????

:ohwell: Quick question to the all the LHCF ladies, relaxed and natural...

As I have read around it seems to me that it's easier to style relaxed hair, with rollersets, blowouts, and other very cute styles...the roots look great and it almost looks like I'd be able to handle it much better than my natural hair. I'm natural with fine hair and I don't want to sacrifice health for style...but maintainence seems so much easier with a stretched relaxer..

Does this vary by hair type and regime? And are there any naturals who feel my pain ??

I always thought that blowouts and heat-styled hair looked better on naturals. I guess we all get that grass is always greener on the other side syndrome, lol. There are a lot of natural ladies on this forum that straighten their hair and are able to keep it looking great. But in the end it's all about what you feel would work best for your hair. But before making any drastic decisions I would check out some youtube videos of natural heads and how they style their hair. But in the end it's always a trade off. When you are relaxed you get nostalgic for natural hair (because of versatility), and when your natural you miss relaxed hair (manageability, low-maintanence, etc...).

I definitely understand what you are going through. I am going through the same thing and I started threads about this just a couple of days/weeks ago. Here are the links, I hope that you find the info helpful.

I have been natural for only 7 months and they have been the most confusing months in the life of my hair.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much ladies...after some research I guess what is best for me is being natural. I should just work on defining the curls I was blessed with...im praying about it tho (nothings to small for the lord ;-) )
