question but I have noticed that even if it doesnt grow long, when I let my pubic hair grow out, their strands are "thicker", lush, waayy stronger/shinier and grows faster than the strands on my head. why is that?
I mean of all the care in the world i give the hair on my head, why are the hairs down "there" still healthier-looking?

I am sorry if this is a nasty:ohwell: question (plz no unnecessary comments) but FOR THOSE THAT HAVE SOMETIMES LET THEIR PUBIC HAIR GROW OUT, have you experienced this?

sometimes i wish my pubic hair was on my head and my head hair was in my pubic area. :lachen::lachen::lachen:

I Don't let mines grow in long enough to see thickness or lushiousness. Not a fan of thick and lush in that department. Thin and trim all the way

Le sigh....I think it's because the hair "down there" isn't exposed to the environment, our manipulations into styles, and the elements that it thrives. Basically, the pubes grow to a pre programmed maximum length and see little of the drama and stresses of hair on one's head.

Methinks this is how ti is for everyone, including men w/ bald heads! ;) :giggle:

yea if only our head hair grew as fast as our "body hair". everybody would hit their goals. lol

I have always wondered as well. My "body hair" is the same texture as my eyelashes/eyebrows (straight and fine) its very weird. I always assumed the "body hair" was suppose to be coarser. I guess we all are different.

I was just wondering the same thing recently. I don't do anything at all to mine--never have, never will---and it's very thick, shiny, and full. My head hair is thin and thinning as can be.

And no, there's nothing nasty about it at all. Nothin' about my body is nasty; God loves me the way he made me!

LOL, it's a funny topic though because when Iwas in high school, the European-ancestry students used to racistly mock me because my head hair was "like pubic hair." Little did their ignorant minds know that pubic hair itself can be beautiful, so they were inadvertently complimenting me.

I'm pretty sure pubic hair has a shorter terminal length than the hair on our heads so.. you'd just have a thick lush "fro"..and thats about it. I rather have a flowing mane that can be turned into thick, lush, shiny hair. There's conditioners, oils, and LHCF for that.

I don't let it come in, but on the few times that I have, I wasn't a big fan of the texture. I don't think it grows any faster than head hair. Half an inch a month seems about right. Perhaps it appears to grow faster because of the area and the amount of grooming involved? If you don't want it to grow, half an inch per month seems exceedingly fast. If you do want it to grow, half an inch appears exceedingly slow.

I asked my DH this question. He said that the follicles on your head are different than your pubes. He shut me right up....though I can see that being the reason, I'm sure he made it up.

Most of my hair is the same degree of coarseness as pubes.

*hangs head in shame*

I'm serious though. My hair can look soft, but it'll never feel soft. My hair is prone to breakage because it's rigid. I condition the heck out of it to keep it pliable.

Anyways, I think the hair down there grows faster because body hair grows way faster than scalp hair. but it also sheds at a much faster rate.

When I was very young (11-13ish) and hadn't yet figured out I could trim down there, it grew for about 3 years unchecked. Ladies, it grew down to my knees and actually the texture was much nicer than the hair on my head. Luckily, my sister caught me coming out of the shower one day and introduced me an electric shear. Haven't seen 'um since.
