color reaction, Just a question.

Hello Ladies,

I am natural, I got my 1st hair color about 2 weeks ago at the Aveda institute in Las Vegas. I was a deep brown with alot of gray around the edges. The color I went for is a rich reddish color. No strand test was done. Since the color, I have washed and conditioned with protein/moisture, However, I have a new condition that I have never had before the color. My scalp is DRYYYYYYYYY and I can not stop SCATCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not had to oil my scalp in yearsssssssss and do not know what is going on. Please help a sista out.

I was itching the first night after my Aveda color. However, I also made sure to add my JBCO and other oils to my hair within a few days. You should consider infusing oil into the hair via a "hot" oil treatment or using steam.

I'd try another conditioner 1st to see if it's the conditioner. If it's not, then it could be the dye job. Without the patch test, it's hard to say if it's an allergy or just the dye causing dryness. Is your hair itself dry?
