Henna and Amla--changing texture

My first henna treatment, I used a great deal of Amla (1/4- 1/2 cup) and my hair texture appeared to be the same after the treatment. I did another henna treatment a week after the first one with whatever was left over from the first mix. With the 2nd mix, my hair seemed a lot straighter---the curls were not springy and tight; they looked very loose. My hair looked more wavy if that. After a few condition washes, I began to wonder. For my third treatment, I used straight amla and after washing it out my hair was curlier than ever. Now, I have my texture back and more. It is super curly. I will experiment with my next henna/amla to get a good balance.

Anyway, for anyone who has lost some curl or for anyone who wants more textured hair, try amla.

Good to know amla worked for you! It seems to be true that one has to experiment and see how much to use to achieve certain textures. I may use it separately next time, perhaps after a henna/indigo gloss.
