It was a long road to finding what worked for my hair, but I finally found it. I don't know if it's thread already out about this. I am just curious to know what others have found that worked for them.

This is what works for me:

-Washing every 3 days [I was washing once a week but by mid week, my hair was limp with no life]
-Shampoo- Nexxus Therappe Shampoo
-Clarifying Shampoo- Nexxus Aloe Rid [I clarify once a month]
-Conditioner- Nexxus Humectress [I deep condition ever shampoo. I let it sit under a plastic cap for at least 30 minutes]
-Protein Conditioner-Nexxus Keraphix
-Leave-in Conditioner- Nexxus Headress
-Hot Oil-jojoba oil ***new to my regimen but my hair likes it*** [I will do this once a week]

Something that I got from a LHCF member that my hair loves is Sylver's scarf Method! Thank's Sylver! My hair loves your method.

bludacious: I'm selling a liter bottle of Therappe in the Hair Exchange Discussion...

What works for me is:

-Shampooing and conditioning everyday
-Using Vatika Oil on wet and dry hair
-Using light protein twice a week
-air drying
-no heat
-baggying at night
-no trimming
-protective styles
-no salons, no stylists
-stretching relaxers 12-16 weeks

I wish I had known three days ago. I just bought the humectress therappe combo. Thanks anyway!

-Clarifying Shampoo- Elasta QP Bodifying Shampoo [I clarify once a month]
-Conditioner- Suave Humectant or LeKair Cholesterol Plus [I don't really deep condition. I just use one of these conditioners to detangle my hair in sections, then I rinse it out after fully detangling]

Keeping it simple works for me. :) I’ve found that if I just leave my hair alone, that works best for me. I don’t have any product staples or routines/regimens for my hair…I just do what I feel needs to be done. For example, I wash and deep condition my hair once a week with whatever shampoo I have (normally Nexxus, Elasta QP, CON, or Silk & Shine). I don’t pre-poo, do protein treatments, load my hair with products, or anything of the sort…and neither am I saying that any of those things are bad, they just don’t work for me. ;)

For me: “less is more”!! Since I’ve had this strawset in, I haven’t been able to wash my hair. Due to the fact that I just left it alone and massaged some MTG in my hair it grew about ¼” in 2 ½ weeks. I’m a basic shampoo, deep conditioner, gel, and moisturizer type of gal! :)

I learned that my hair loves creamy leave-ins and I better not use a dime or nickle size amount. I need a silver dollar amount or more for my thirsty hair.

My hair likes conditioner washes, daily. It doesn't like too many products. Just a leave-in conditioner and a little gel/mousse. If i use too many products it will break off.

-Conditioner washes twice per week (3 times per week during the Summer). Shampooing once a month.
-NTM, Kenra and Dove shampoo.
-Suave, V05, Dove, Kenra, and St. Ives conditioners. Occassionally I'll use a Dominican conditioner to deep condition.
-Salerm 21 as a leave in
-Coconut oil
-Fantasia Frizz Buster Gel
-Ponytails, but I'm about to switch to buns b/c my relaxed hair looks dry and dull compared to my natural hair.

my hair likes...
kenra MC (nexxus doesnt work anymore)
biolage ultra hydrating balm
washing twice a week
bb oil moisturiser with wgho to seal it in
CO washes
clarifying when hair is plasticky with suave clarifying
no heat (airdrying)
bantu knot out!!!
after washing, leave in and wgho only!!! no overload of products

Stretching relaxers
Co washes
Braids
Blowdrying occasionally
Dominican Conditioner
Elucence poo & condiioner
UBH products
BBD Stretch Creme
Barry Fletcher Liquid Moisture Oil

Myhoneychild shampoos
Keracare Shampoo
Myhoneychild conditioners
Vo5 Natural Oasis Conditioners
Lacio Lacio as a leave-in
twisting my hair while its damp
Jilbere shower comb
Preshampoo treatments
unrefined coconut oil
protein treatments once a month

using my staple products: Paul mitchel daily moisture shampoo, motions cpr, paul mitchells supercharged moisturizer and pm serums. All these products work the best for moi.

*Con-washes on the other 5 days i dont shampoo (VO5 Pina Colada or VO5 Strawberries and Cream)

Protein treatments!! Yeah!!!

this is what works for my transitioning hair..

cowashes with DDTA and Humectress, deep co's once every 4-6 weeks with Paul Mitchell SCM, daily misting with Dark N Lovely Citrus Braid Spray, braids, and rodsets. Oh.. and my K-Cutter comb.. doing this with that comb results in VERY little breakage from the two textures. :)

Has anyone ever tried any anti DHT pills or sprays, if so what was the result
