New Year Hair Resolutions: What are your goals for '08?

My resolutions are
* Reach my length goals BSL and MBL
* Stay on a hair budget, no more new products- only replace staples
* Continue my hair regime consistently
* Become more of a DIYer, maybe this is the year i'll bump my stylist huh!?

1. Master the Rollerset
2. Throw my blow dryer away
3. Put the sissors down...only use them to dust
4. Buy only what I need, not what I think I need
5. Stretch 4-6 months
6. Do braided styles/kinky twist myself stop depending on stylist that have no clue how to comb and braid without yanking and breaking hair.

Hair Resolutions

1) Stick with a consistent regime for the whole year..methods and products
2) Stop buying so much stuff I never use
3) Reach APL by the end of the year or be really close to it.
4) Get the split ends (the l shaped ones) gone for good
5) Start gaining more thickness (I found the root of the issue so I will be set in 08)
6) Learn other styles I can do besides rollersets
7) Find a dependable stylist I can trust
8) Get better at self trimming.

Goals for '08

1. BSL in early 2008
2. Continue a consistent Regiment
3. Work up the nerve to "wash that gray right out"

1. K.I.S.S (find a regimen that works)
2. Continue to DIY
3. Armpit length
4. Get a good trim @ least 3 times (17 weeks)
5. STOP BUYING PRODUCTS AND USE WHAT I GOT
6. Keep my hair as HEALTHY as possible

1) Find my staple products!
2) Improve the health of my hair!
3) Reach APL
4) Relax every 12 weeks after my 5 month stretch!
5) Get my nape together!

  1. I want to reach APL by fall of next year.
  2. I want to see the look on my brother's face that says black girls can't grown long hair. :perplexed

1. Stop buying millions of products I never use.
2. Stick to a weekly regimen/ DC each week.
3. Shoulder length by 10.08
4. Master rollerset.

1. Get control of my PJism. Either sell as much as I can or give the products away, but try not to buy up all this stuff.:nono:

2. Continue to relax only twice a year. I've seen a major improvement in my hair by stretching. If for some reason, I cannot stretch another 6 month, then I'll stretch for as long as I can, 4-6 months.

3. Give up direct heat. I was disappointed in the Sedu and actually sent it back to the company (they have a 30-day money back guarantee).

4. Transition to all-natural pratices and give up poo. I'm trying to only use poo once a month or every now and again. I want to do an all-Ayurvedic challenge to see how my hair thrives.

5. Scale back my supplementation to 2 or 3 supplements rather than all the stuff I'm taking. Perhaps sticking to a good hair vitamin with enough biotin, pantothentic acid and b-complex to keep me going. Continue my multi-vitamin with iron.

6. Improve diet for hair by increasing veggies/protein and not so much junk food. I do well with the water and exercise already.

7. Keep up with the protective styling. I think this is working well for me. I wear protective styles 99% of the time.

8. Continue to do rollersets for the first 3 months of my stretch, then airdry for the final 3 months of the stretch.

9. Keep a Fotki, updating every 3 months with journal entries and updates.

10. Continue to support my adopted LHCF Baby Sisters as they continue to reach their hair care goals.

My goals are:
  • To reach my final goal of mid-back with long layers.
  • To thicken my hair and if that's not possible to find products that give me more volume/the illusion of thickness.
  • To get rid of all excess products.
  • To build my collection of hair toys.

To just let it go. I've been obsessing for almost 3 years and it's meant to be then it will be, but this hair of mine will no longer run my life!

*Full APL by March 08
*APL in front and sides by December 08
*BSL by August 08
*Full BSL by December 08:grin:

Note to self:

-keep telaxing every 12 weeks
-keep hair moisturized and oiled
-keep that direct heat off the head
-do protective styling
-stay motivated:look:

I'm not really in a rush anymore since my hair has gotten so much thicker, proving that it DOES grow(lol), but my goal is to be at least close to BSL by December 2008. I finally have the health and thickness. I can FINALLY work on the length! Cross your fingers and hope that I can make it to BSL!!!

My other goal is to texelax no more than 4 times in 2008. Valentine's Day, my boyfriend's B-day (June), my birthday (October) and Christmas. Last year I texlaxed 5 times. Gotta cut down to keep the thickness going!

Consistency!!! Consistency!!! Consistency!!!

Continue to stretch my relaxers for 10 weeks at a time. That seems to be the right thing for me as I've been getting great results with that.

BSL by May '08.

FULL BSL by September '08.

Let's get it!!! :woot:

1. To reach BSL.
2. To obtain thicker, healthier hair.
3. To get better at styling my hair.
4. To continue stretching for 18 weeks.
5. To be consistent with my regimen.

My hair goals for 2008:

Seriously step up hair game ( I haven't done much deep conditioning and I've been washing and airdrying in a bun because its so simple for me) by keeping a simple consistent regimen of deep conditioning and rollersetting weekly

Stop breakage in my crown and nape by moisturizing, paying special attention to those areas, every night and sleeping with a satin cap.

Keep hair length healthy by lightly trimming after each relaxer

Keep texlaxing every 4 months

  • Get my hair even healthier than it is now. Health, always first. Thicker would be nice as well (a thin haired chick's hair dream).
  • Get my hooded dryer in January and become a total DIY'er. Getting rollersetting down is key.
  • To reach BSL in the back and for the front to be CBL. [praying for no setbacks]
  • These damned edges. I can't say anymore, just hope it gets better.:ohwell:
  • Continuing to keep it simple and following the Sylver method during the warm months.:yep:
  • Going to take over doing my sister's hair.:look:

My goal is just to get my hair healthy. this means thick and shiny.
-eat better
-keep up with the moisture/protein balance
-trim off thin ends
-become a DIY
- be consistent with scalp massages

Length will have to wait until '09:ohwell:

1. trying to get my hair mostly all one length u-shaped then blunt when straightened.

2. APL/BSL curly

  • Master at least 2 of the techniques in the Braids by Breslin 4 in 1 DVD
  • Do not be afraid to use a little heat sometimes.
  • Keep my hair healthy and get a good trim at full SL.
  • Do more dry flexirod sets. I do really cute ones.
  • More DIY not only is it good for my hair but it's good for my spirit.
  • Don't get discouraged. I can do this even when I feel like I can't.

Go as long as I can without a relaxer... lol (then decide what I'm going to do)
Keep my hair moisturized
Try to gain and keep 6 inches of new growth while maintaining the length and health of the relaxed hair.
Keep my regime simple and sweet! :)
