Product of the Year!

Nexxus Y Serum! This is truly a magic potion for hair. First of all, it's not a true "serum", it's more like a liquid leave-in conditioner. I don't know how it works, but this stuff has done amazing things to my hair. My hair is shiny, silky, full of body, and just looks great. I've been using it just over a week, and my hair keeps looking better and better. They could call this stuff "Great Hair Day in a Bottle" because that's exactly what it does for the hair. This is definitely one of the hair products I'll be hoarding!

Yes, it's runny. It's basically the consistency of water. It's a light yellow color (think lemonade). It has a wierd, plastic-like smell at first, but it dissipates quickly.

OMG!! I love the Nexxus line and alaways wondered about this product. Now I have to try it. Is it high in protein? Moisturizing? What does it DO exactly??? DO tell...

I'll agree Tom !

Yes Tee--when I used this consistently for about a week, I got the same results that you're speaking of. The hard part for me was wetting my hair everyday b/c it did make it wet indeed.

Do you just use a little? Do you use it twice a day?

Hmmmm....

I've been eyeing this. All us Nexxus lovers should take a field trip to the beauty supply.

Think of your best hair day, the day your hair felt and looked its best, your dream hair... and this is what Nexxus Y Serum will do for your hair. On a consistent basis. It doesn't really moisturize. If you normally use a moisturizer, you will still need to use it with the Y Serum. The only proteins I recognize in the ingredients are cysteine and methionine (I think these are amino acids). It's got some silicones, panthenol, glycerin and some really interesting and unique ingredients like mushroom and green tea extract.

I'll just say that I've been using it for about a week, and I'm aready on my second bottle. I use it once a day, after my conditioner washes. Ladies, don't even try this product unless you are prepared for an expensive habit. It costs about $20 for a teeny tiny 4oz. bottle. I can't wait until Sally's or some other company makes a knock off, because the price is ridiculous!

Whoa! You are using it seriously, aren't you? So then you're spraying it on to your hair while it's wet, right? I did mine on dry hair. Still good results.

AUGHHHH.. you ladies need to stop the insanity!! I can't afford any more products, especially the fabulously expensive ones!!

I saw the bottle of Y-serum at JCPenney a couple weeks ago too and was wondering what they meant by "younger looking hair"... Now I have to go take another look... sheesh.. [bad kinikini adding this to her list of products to try]

I just won an auction on ebay for the Y serum and I'm sooo excited!! I paid $20.00 for the large sized bottle (10 oz). I think it retails for at least $35.00!!! I can't wait til it gets here!!!

Thanks Allandra; I hope I like it... Mindymouse just posted that she hated it and sent hers back!!

But I know; I know...(every one say it with me!!) "WHAT WORKS FOR ONE, WON'T NECESSARILY WORK FOR EVERYONE"

It's expensive? Oh no!

I'll try it anyway.

If it's really all that, I'll drop some of my old habits, and replace them with Nexxus Y

Mindymouse,
You are not alone, my hair didn't like it neither. It made me wonder if it was for Afro-American hair.
WASTED BUCKS.

This is still working great for me. I love it even more when used with Nexxus Headdress Leave-In (which I used to dislike!). I also got the Y Conditioner, and I love that, too (well, except for the eggroll smell *peee uuuu*).

I'm sorry to hear that the Y Serum didn't work for you, Mindymouse and ShirleyD. I'm glad you were able to return it, though, MM. I wouldn't want anyone to shell out this kind of money for something that ends up dissapointing them.

i tried the nexxus y system products and the shampoo and conditioner are good. the conditioner gives great slip. as far as the y serum i used it once the whole week so i dont think i'll be seeing any results. for some reason i just hate dealing with oil, grease, moisturizers, etc everyday. so i only used it once.but the bottle it comes in is very cute. when it runs out im gonna put some other oil in it.

Does it do the same thing as LUST?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, it's not like LUST at all. It is more of a treatment product that improves the hair over time. I can't really compare it to any other product I've tried before. The first few days I used it, I didn't notice anything special. It wasn't until day 4 or 5 that I started noticing that my hair was shinier, bouncier, and feeling and looking really good. I guess this is what Nexxus means by "younger looking hair".
