steaming hair vs cap & hooded dryer when deep conditioning

has anyone tried deep conditioning their hair using a hair steamer without a cap versus putting on a cap and sitting under a hooded dryer? Was there much difference in the result? How much of a difference was there in the result? I normally sit under a hodded dryer with a cap for about 45 minutes when I deep condition. How does taht compare to steaming your hair for 20 minutes? Are the results about the same?

thanks

Good Question - When I want a quick deep condish I will put on a plastic cap and jump in the shower and let the steam work, but I am not sure if I can tell any difference.
