Straight to Cassia?

Hey all,
I have two questions regarding cassia.

1) If I apply cassia after coming out of a straight style (I'm natural), should I expect my hair to shrink back, as normal? I'm planning to wash my hair and apply. My hair normally doesn't shrink back to normal until I do a protein treatment after a straight style. I'm confused, because from what I've read, henna acts as a protein, but also loosens curl pattern, and cassia acts like henna. Is this correct?

2) Should I not apply the cassia if I have a rinse? I have a red rinse in chunks of my hair. It's supposed to wash out between 3-30 washes. I do want it to eventually fade completely. The information on my cassia says that if my hair is in good condition, it can be applied over any dye. It also says the cassia effects will fade after four to six weeks. What I'm wondering is, will the rinse continue to fade as well, or will putting the cassia over it pretty much lock it in forever?

TIA!
